The graphics are amazing on PC. The gameplay isn't that bad, but it gets boring roaming around hallways and offices after awhile. I couldn't finish the game.
The map is uber s***. Its ridiculously difficult to figure out what to do/where to go next. It really killed an otherwise great game for me.

I agree, it was super easy for me to get lost and not know where to go next. But the game requires a lot of backtracking through previously explored areas which helped me navigate the maze like creepy environment. Fun game but like mentioned the map is useless. Luckily the game play is really fun with tight shooting mechanics and powers once you get used to the controls and how the enemies behave. There was one boss fight that took me some time to beat, I won't spoil it for anyone but the advice I give is the same for the game overall.............Never Stop Moving.

I liked the game up to the boss I died to about 10 times. Deleted it at that point. I might try this version but high doubt.

The map and some of the level design in this are a mess.
Shame really cause the gameplay is great most of the time. Chucking stuff at people doesn't get old.

But it's been so long since I last played I would probably have to start again. Only remedy game I've not finished.

Saves don't carry over anyways

Hmm, lack of save transfers is weird. Oh well, should be fun to re-expereince the first part of the game with much nicer graphics.

The upgrade is available to download on Series X already

Really happy with it so far on XSX. Pretty massive graphical improvement over the X1X version using the ray tracing mode. Incredible lighting & reflections. Colors seem to be much more vidid now as well. More detail and performance seems much more solid at 30fps than it ever was on X1X. Noticing a lot of things I missed (or couldn't see) on the old console versions. Played through the first two missions pretty quickly since I knew what to do.

I haven't even tried the 60fps mode to compare, think I may just leave it on ray tracking.

I think the ray tracing looks good on PS5 considering going into this new generation we had no idea how consoles would pull it off. Even on low settings with checkerboarding it’s adds a ton. I’m impressed.

You can re-earn achievements. :hehe:

I'm actually enjoying playing from the beginning. So much stuff to notice that wasn't there in the last gen console version. The first 15 mins of the game probably took me 45 mins because I kept looking at details, reflections, and shadows that weren't there originally. The game is pretty impressive now.

By the way, i love that the Ultimate Edition loads from a dead start at virtually the same speed as Quick Resume. Super fast. The old X1X version used to take ages.
Nice, looking forward to trying the game out after work tonight. I was having fun when I was playing on the PS4 Pro but I never finished it. I think the last boss fight before I stopped playing had a lot to do with it even though I was able to beat that stupid boss. I also think my TV was no calibrated correctly which made the heavy use if red in the game hurt my eyes after prolonged sessions. And then there's the long loading times after death which also slowly sucked away my motivation to continue.

I've never had two versions of the same game on a system before so I'll need to remember to delete the regular version to free up some space. Just another reminder that I won't be able to put off getting the memory expansion for much longer.

I've only played for about 20 minutes but this is a very average looking game, hopefully it gets more impressive as time goes on and yes I'm using the PS5 upgrades lol. I never thought the footage looked good from last gen consoles either though.

Looks like XSX takes out PS5 out picture quality alone. In some scenes/games I like PS5’s saturated colors and overall pop but in this game it’s clearly losing detail in scenes.

Tried both graphic options?

Its really nice that we can switch between graphical options on the fly. Standing in an area with lots of reflective surfaces with RT turned on and then switched it off and I noticed a huge difference. Those reflections are a huge improvement but because of the fast paced combat some might prefer the butter smoothness of 60fps. I don't have a problem with 30fps gaming and because this game also has a lot of exploration I'll probably continue to play at 30fps with RT. I wish we had both 60fps with RT. Spiderman is the only game to do this so far that I know of but hopefully it spreads to other games.

I literally cannot decide on a graphical option. Looks way better to me in graphical mode, but feels much better to play in performance mode.

DF thinks it may be the best implementation of ray tracing on consoles yet.

Sounds like they are working on fixing the XSX version, where the frame rates drop when text comes up on the screen. Apparently a bug.
