I think it's safe to say:
1. Horizon will look better.
2. People will play a lot more hours of Halo.
3. If one of those two statements pissed you off, don't bother responding because I already know what you're going to say because you've said it a million times.

Damn, we have come full circle once again.

Looks like HFW pushing console visuals are making a lot of Xbox fans insecure. We have now come back to focusing on gameplay 😂. Where were you guys when Returnal was released? Oh, too busy laughing or poking fun at the visuals instead of focusing on its fun gameplay. Now that another Sony exclusive is leading the industry in visuals department, you have nothing to fall back on except gameplay. Hilarious.

If HFW plays anything like the first, I will be having a lot of fun and enjoying the visuals at the same time.

For Xbox fans' sanity sake, I hope Halo Infinite is good.

The few new screenshots (from 2 months ago) I seen of Halo Infinite are underwhelming. They do not even look better than the old Hroizon game IMO.


Does these Screenshots look impressive for a next gen game, let alone supose most expensive game ever with 500 million estimated caost & 6 years in dev. Looks like something that can be done with last gen hardware.

Those screenshots looks better than the gameplay that has been shown....I guess the 360 gen animations makes it look even worse idk

Horizon Zero Dawn is 89% at Metacritic
343 studio Halo 5 is 84%.

But yeah, you must be a fanboy to believe next Horizon will be better.... & nothing to do with being the last Horizon was critically acclaimed, while the last Halo was slightly less acclaimed.

In any case, it isn't even about which is better, just visuals from what we have seen so far, and from what posted, most people here do think Hiorzon looks better.

Anyone remember when game play was priority? Or when people chose performance over graphics as a priority?

I'm pretty sure I've put mostly even playing time between my XSX and PS5 lately. I use XSX for most of my multiplats, and PS for the great library.

Both have great things to offer. A big improvement from last gen launch where both consoles were underpowered and underwhelming.

Gameplay AND visuals will be fine if it's anything like the first HZD. You think reviewers only look at visuals? Nah, they take gameplay into account too for their review scores.

Sony exclusives are known for both great gameplay and visuals as evidenced by game critics. Demon's souls, Returnal, Miles Morales all had great scores because of what, oh gameplay and visuals. Upcoming exclusives won't be the exception in Ratchet, Kena, HFW and so on.

PS5 still holds the advantage in performance in many titles. Don't even start on that 😂

But, hold up tho. Aren't you and Jinca a couple of the ones here who were saying the Series X couldn't pull off the Unreal 5 demo during sonys presser because it didn't have a fast enough SSD?

I could've sworn you two were touting that BS. Not that I expect either of you to admit

HD does look incredible. Credit when credit is due. That's a pretty ass game. Xbox will have theirs too. It's a good time to be a gamer.

Both systems will produce amazing looking games. A bit premature to announce who will have the best this early in the gen. I will say this though....Sony 1st party has ALWAYS had the better artists. That isn't even a question.

Just from an aesthetic point of view so far HZD >>> Halo IMHO.

Hello Mcmasters! Long time no talk. Glad to see you back in these VS threads. Hope you're keeping well and healthy during these trying times.

Nope, I personally haven't said anything like that from what I recall. I've just been impressed with how it looked and ran last year on the PS5.

UE 5 is a multiplatform engine, it would be reasonable to assume PC, XS consoles would be able to run it. Hell, aren't they even thinking of having it run on mobile?

Because they put actual effort in. Last gen consoles impact on visuals is minimal, it is lack of effort that determines the end product. I was trying to tell Valliance that in another thread but you know how that goes. Wonder if he suddenly dhanged his mind.

Oh I 100% agree with you. Compare this showing of gameplay to what we got with Halo Infinite's first gameplay trailer.

Effort and time (and a bit of pressure) creates diamonds.

Lack in any one of those areas and you just get a hunk of carbon that isn't as pure.

VGTech Saints Row 3 remastered. No dips at all on the PS5 version. Assuming this is a native port for the PS5.



PS5 and Xbox Series X both use a dynamic resolution with the highest resolution found being 3840x2160 and the lowest resolution found being approximately 3360x1890. Pixel counts at 3840x2160 seem to be common on both PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Xbox Series S in performance mode uses a dynamic resolution with the highest resolution found being 2560x1440 and the lowest resolution found being 1920x1080. Pixel counts seem to often be somewhere between the 2560x1440 and 1920x1080 on Xbox Series S in performance mode. The only resolution found on Xbox Series S in resolution mode was 2560x1440. Xbox Series S renders the UI at 3840x2160 in both modes.

Will be interesting to see the Halo reveal vs Halo launch difference. It should be huge.
