Absolutely, and this is one point that is glossed over too much. I'd love to see some graphic on this, but I think the average 'gamer' only plays 1 or 2 of the biggest titles out there, repeatedly. Most "gamers" will play Fortnite or Minecraft or the latest COD, there's less active gamers who will go out and buy games then people think, there's only a handful of games that enjoy big sales numbers.
20 billion market value loss in a day is crazy!f*** ... Can't fathom the pure horror Sony execs feel right now... It must be horrible, I feel bad for their families.

Hmmm.
Wow d00df*** ... Can't fathom the pure horror Sony execs feel right now... It must be horrible, I feel bad for their families.
I am curious why you take issue with my preference and most gamers preference to use the old business model?Oh, I’m fairly certain you have more than a singular issue going on. If you’d like to explore your issues, I am willing to help connect you to a psychologist.
On a serious note, I have no idea, but it’s not the actual practice of renting. Something about the value proposition of renting your games is the issue. At the least, you can’t make blanket statements such as renting is bad/not good without being hypocritical. It might not be good for you for whatever reason, but that’s another issue.
Curious, do you trade in your games or resell them? It’s not the same thing, but I can’t imagine the value proposition is better than renting an entire gaming catalog at a low price.
I actually do hate Microsoft. He just hates Microsoft.
If you pay to play and can't play when you don't pay, it's a rental serviceNo, it's not the same thing, it's deliberately obtuse, and is purposefully used that same way by anyone being derogatory towards Gamepass all over social media. I see it every day on Twitter, and it's always from the Sony loyalists.... Have you ever actually RENTED a movie digitally on Vudu, or through cable service, PPV style? THAT DOES EXIST, and it's VERY different than Netflix or Disney+! You're paying to view 1 piece of content, usually for 48hrs.
Pretending they are the same thing is just giving sh!t-talkers a free ticket to say dumb sh!t, purposefully designed to take pot shots. I think letting ppl bring that attitude here is extremely annoying, and the fact that it's OK here is the same reason I haven't been hanging out here lately. Why go to a small, controlled forum anymore if letting people act like this is OK?
Edit: I'm 100% saying that you can very much still make an argument against the value of a streaming service without acting like a child about it, for the record.
We should leave answering that to qualified professionals.
It also has had EA Play attached for over a year, all Bethesda/id games (permanent) for a while now, is soon getting Ubisoft+, and that's aside from the regular Microsoft games, and some monthly additions... Adding Activision/Blizzard permanently (like Bethesda) is nuts! Value is ALWAYS subjective, but at some point, there's either a good value, or nothing is a good value, if you don't like the idea of subscribing.
It is subjectiveI thought I made that clear when I said: "Value is ALWAYS subjective", and also when I said, "at some point" there's value or not value, as in it won't matter at all for people who don't like a subscription service. I think I'm saying the same thing you are.
Fortnite is free and most gamers buy cod and mc.Most "gamers" will play Fortnite or Minecraft or the latest COD, there's less active gamers who will go out and buy games then people think, there's only a handful of games that enjoy big sales numbers.
I need you to use a modicum of reading comprehension here. I don’t take any issue to your preference. I don’t know you and care very little about you beyond your general well-being.Wow d00d
I am curious why you take issue with my preference and most gamers preference to use the old business model?
I actually do hate Microsoft.
I am a gamer so I look past the parent company of the brand(Xbox)that I spend money on from them.
If you pay to play and can't play when you don't pay, it's a rental service
It's not s*** talking unless this truth bothers you? It shouldn't... you are better than this.
Stay away from Twitter if it bothers you as it's not worth it if it does this.
It is subjective
Fortnite is free and most gamers buy cod and mc.
A bad cod was still 2021's top what? SELLING game.
You are taking issue if you are saying my game renting statement is bad.I need you to use a modicum of reading comprehension here. I don’t take any issue to your preference. I don’t know you and care very little about you beyond PERIODyour general well-being.
I’m merely pointing out the stupidly ignorant and hypocritical blanket statement you made about renting being bad. Ultimately though, it doesn’t change much for me if you continue to be both ignorant and hypocritical. It does however, validate quite a few assumptions regarding your history of posting content.
But had they bought them back then they probably wouldn’t have as many devs as they did when they did, no?It's not my money!
MS has put together a pretty nice collection of game developers. They're throwing some money around, and why wouldn't they?
Took them long enough. They should have bought Bethesda over 20 years ago, along with a few other developers.
Funny to think back on them buying Rare. Is Mojang working out for them as far as what they paid?
Just curious.
Can't see lay offs happening except maybe some of the more toxic elements there. MS seems more likely to grow the studios than shrink them.Activision Employees Say They’re Optimistic About Acquisition by Microsoft

There has been trepidation about potential layoffs; optimism about Microsoft's recent history of buying game companies and then leaving them alone; determination to fight for better wages and more worker protections.
But above all, more than a dozen employees across Activision Blizzard's divisions say they're relieved that something -- anything -- has actually happened that could fundamentally change the company's course. Many people had been worried that the status quo would remain intact, and that was unacceptable
MS does hired alot of Indians.....in India.Let's see ... If counting Phil, there's as many women as men, 1 black, 1 Asian, a baldy, a ginger... That's pretty good, but where's the trans, Latino and indian (or is it native amerikan?) representation?
Do you mean that native amerikans travel to India for work?MS does hired alot of Indians.....in India.
You are taking issue if you are saying my game renting statement is bad.
Not a single hypocritical statement about GP from me was said.
It's bad to me PERIOD. Respect my opinion and Get over it!
Jokes aside, I think alot of jobs given to foreigners can be given to local Americans that can lift many families to middle classes include miniorities.Do you mean that native amerikans travel to India for work?
I would say Mojang definitely worked out. Sales number grew massively, as did engagement numbers after MS bought them. It's not my money!

We don’t need two teds in accounting…Can't see lay offs happening except maybe some of the more toxic elements there. MS seems more likely to grow the studios than shrink them.
