Man, I have not gotten much time to put into this recently. I am at Godrick and had maybe 5-10 attempts and was just starting to feel like I was learning the attacks and stuff and then haven't been able to get back into it. Hopefully tomorrow. I really want to go from dual daggers to dual rapiers but so far all I have is the basic rapier I bought at Roundtable Hold, so daggers it is. I am seeing why bandit isn't a recommended starting class for new players, but this ain't Rainbow Kitty Unicorn Pattycake Adventures so a little more challenge is good.
maybe get the Rotton dog Summon, upgrade it once (optional) or twice, & allow him time to get the rotton bleed going. Then just chill & run around & attck with opening, & let him bleed to death.

I put ZERO hours into Elden ring this week. I am playing easier mage class & even so, it no way as tough as these 2D medtrodmania games where its almost impossible to cheese. & requited pixel perfect jump/dodge. I did not died that much (by "dark soul" stanadard), but I am just not getting into the game.

Even on the few occasions I had some time to play, I just didnt feel like powering up Elden ring. I think the game feels like work. That is the main problem I have. I know people praise the lack of direction /handhold. but for me, without a clear goal (at least for main quests), I just not motivated to play.

I would classified this along Assasin creed as popular games that I couldn't get into. I will get it one last shot in the weekend, if not feeling it, I will move on the Tiny Tina Adventure.

I played it a little more tonight, even in performance mode it doesn't look smooth a lot of the time. Part of me thinks maybe I should wait until I get a tv with VRR later this year after it's added to the PS5. After playing Forbidden West for a month this game looks really dated too but it's serviceable, I guess. I do hope they add the option to hide the characters hood/helmet during gameplay.

These games have never been known to be lookers. One of the things I’m hoping they will do is move away from the engine they are using.

Stupid question. I finish the guide I follow to get Op early, & well, it pretty much worked as intended. How to know where to go in the game. follow the yellow sperms on the map or what?

The sites of grace will give you a general direction

So follow the yellow sperms?

I think artistically, the game can look awesome. There is cohesion with the environment, architectures that make sense.

The giant tree act as a marker relative to where you are, as well as gives the assurance you are still in the same region. How the water features , cliffs.walls, bridges etc act as barriers to guide players direction to go. In many open-world games, like far cry, AC, you can plot a straight line to your next destination without many detours.

Dispite being formsoft first oepn world game, the world is/are design by people knowing how to design world & how things are where they are in real world & translate the knowledge to game.

Jelly fish is my fav so far...I got Godrick on my 4th or 5th try with that and the NPC girl as well...up to level 63 now with my Samurai.

I hate Caelid though, full of Rot and poison, lets see how it goes.

I agree but there's something in Caelid I need.

It's crazy how many swings you miss while on the yack or whatever it is they give you as a steed. It's like 1 out of 5 swings hits the target even though he's right next to you the entire time lol.

The Demon's Souls remake looks great but it wasn't made by this studio. I wish this game was comparable to that one graphically. It's funny even in favoring quality it is native 4K but still doesn't look all that sharp. I put on WWE 2K22 after this and it looked so much cleaner and the colors popped more, I may try playing with HDR off tomorrow and see if that does anything.

In Nokron, Eternal City now. Just defeated the Regal Ancestor spirit.

When I fought Radahn I think I hit him once, just rode around reviving my allies and they did all the work lol, although it kind of seems like that's what you're supposed to do.

I got to put in several hours yesterday morning and a little last night.

Godrick eliminated. Got Rogier's Rapier and dual rapiers suits my playstyle a heck of a lot better than the dual daggers. Was wandering around the Liurnia region and hit the warp to another ruins that turned out to have the Frozen Needle, so suddenly I'm rocking dual named rapiers. Good times.

Just got the key that will let me into the academy before I shut it off for the night. Not sure if I'm ready to jump into that yet, but I suppose I'll give that a try next time in.

Funny, I just swapped from rapiers to daggers after beating Godrick. Haven't used them much so far but what I have done with I've really liked. If I can find a teleport dash Ashes to gone on, I'll be set for sure.

I had to learn the hard way that sometimes its a good idea to switch weapons for a particular boss. I was having a hard time with the Godskin Apostle but when I switched from the Gargoyle Blade to the Tree Spear that gave me more range and allowed me to poke him to death in two attempts, lol.

This game is awesome. I love how they designed the open world where you can't plot a straight line to your destination. The way they strategically place a bush that hides a path or how you have to navigate from high up on the cliffs to ground level show real skill in open world design. I can't believe some of the Sony/Ubi devs had sh1t to say about this game but those are the devs that keep doing the same thing in their games so when something like this comes along it scares them to death and shows how much more they need to learn in world design.

I try to have four or five different go to weapons per character. It really does make a huge difference in the game.
