What movies have you seen recently?

Wrath of Man - One of the better recent Guy Ritchie movies, some good action scenes.
Together Together - Not the type of movie I normally watch, but it was entertaining and well made.
The French Dispatch - Well shot and technically executed Wes Anderson movie, but some of the segments didn't connect with me.
Death on the Nile - Felt like a pretty big step down from Murder on the Orient Express, lots of out of place, outdated, and much too busy CGI shots.

Shang-Chi - Loved it. Just a really delightful movie with great character development and the villain was one of Marvel's best. Lot of fun.

The Power of the Dog - A bit slow, but a really good flick. Great score (Johnny Greenwood always nails this), great acting, interesting story. I do absolutely LOVE that not once did Phil and Rose interact besides the whistling. Cumberbatch was so good at his role of absolute tormentor.

Have heard good things about this action flick. Wouldn’t mind seeing it in theater if I have time.

Bay really needs to get back to just making entertaining action flicks and stay away from Transformers.
It’s a small movie for him. Very little downtime in it.

Spiderman: No Way Home - Entertaining, but I didn't like it anywhere near as much as I'd expected. Might have had more impact had all the fun aspects not been spoiled months and months in advance.

The Raid - this is what is lost in today's amerikan action movies, fast paced, violent action.
9/10
The Raid 2 - gives the action much more time to rest, but the story gets more screen time and this is pretty much a 10/10 for me. One of the best action movies ever made imo.

badmonk have you ever worked with Iko Uwais?
No I haven’t tbh. I loved both Raid movies, but even so I love action flicks, even I thought there was too many fights.
I have a theory that when you have too much cool stuff, it no longer becomes cool. It becomes the norm.
so yeah I loved these films but a few fights less would have been better or at least shorter sequences.

The Batman. Pretty good overall, kinda got a little silly there towards the end. A bit too long, and feel like they could have benefitted from an R rating. Would definitely watch a follow up.

Wish they would release an Unrated version or something. With the subject matter could’ve used an R rating I agree.
