He's claiming late 2024-early 2025.Wow, it doesn't seem like the true power of the PS5 has been tapped yet and there's already talk of a mid-gen upgrade. Given supply issues with vanilla PS5 it'll be a challenge to get enough consoles on shelves. I mean, anyone in the market for a PS5 is most likely to wait for a PS5 Pro if its announced. So yeah, if this is indeed a thing then prepare for tough times getting one.
Of course, even though I have a PS5 I'd jump on a PS5 Pro.

Sony is shipping 30 million PS5's in 2023 so everyone who wants one should be able to get one.
I plan on selling mine when the Pro preorders go up.
I'll take my nvme drive with me.
Hopefully I can still get a good amount for it.
Sony has reportedly started handing out PlayStation 5 Pro devkits to game studios
A new leak suggests that game developers have started receiving PlayStation 5 Pro devkits from Sony. There is no word about when the console will be unveiled, but it is unlikely to happen within the next six months or so.www.notebookcheck.net
I agree, and I thought since last gen is holding current gen back a power increase would do nothing since as you said they still haven't tapped the power that's currently available.I still believe that devs haven’t touched like 50% of what the current consoles can do. No first party dev since launch has made one and it takes at least two…one to familiarize and the second to develop upon what they learn and optimize and push beyond those foundations
Current gen would also hold back mid-gen refreshes.I agree, and I thought since last gen is holding current gen back a power increase would do nothing since as you said they still haven't tapped the power that's currently available.
So adding 2,3 or 50 GPU(s) won't let gamers see any difference unless devs abandon last gen or get creative in some way.
