"1080P Zealots Are Ruining Gaming" YT Vid

There wasn't any better pictures is all I was poking fun @? No large environments?

No. But it looked photorealistic when playing. My brother walked by and he was like what movie are you watching.

Victim persona again?

No...

You need to get out more hallways aren't that impressive IMO.

You need to play the game before you actually judge it. Or actually see it in person or watch some HQ videos. It looks really good, no joke. ;)

I believe you just hoping for a better picture then the one you provided. Thought it was a joke post @ 1st like,

Hey this Mango guy is such a card says this game is such a graphical masterpiece and shows us a picture of a hallway! Classic Mango always messing with us...

I just want Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 4, cuz they're gonna be awesome.

I'm fine with what I'm seeing so far on consoles graphics wise and they'll probably get a bit better, no worries here.

I'm with you on that. I've been playing Skyrim again and i'm still blown away at it. Can't even imagine how amazing the next Elder Scrolls game is going to be on the new hardware. Fallout 4 just needs to be announced already. Stop messing with us Bethesda.

There's some rumour out there that ES6 is gonna be announced at the playstation experience thing.

I truly hope not because I'm not sure what that would mean, but yeah Fallout 4 has to come out first.

To me graphics are so amazing at this point that I'm totally fine with any sort of improvement throughout this next gen cycle.

Like, games are gonna keep getting more amazing looking? I bring up FO4 and ES6 because they're my favorite games, and the idea of getting next gen bethesda rpg's is just a serious blessing.

I started gaming on the C64, graphics today would have been mistaken for real life back then.

I remember when people used to say that Gran Turismo 1 looked photo realistic.

As for ES 6 at the playstation event, eh. I call bullcrap on that one. Has only been 3 years since skyrim, think we have another 18 months or so before ES6 gets announced.

Exactly. You dont need amazing hardware to outperform either console.
Case in point. A sub $199 dollar gtx 750ti can run BF4 at 40-60 FPS and at FULL 1080p.
Neither the PS4 or Xb1 can lay claim to that.
Don't even get me started on higher resolutions.

Price out a PC that out-performs an X1 or a PS4, and you'll end up with a higher price.

Consoles are the best gaming value, period. Microsoft's other platform, PC's, (of course) perform better. They cost more. Qbert's $800 PC isn't even twice as performant of an X1 that costs less than half the cost, and comes with new games, a top-tier controller, etc.

A lot of dismissal and denial about the beauty that is P.T..

if there is something I like this gen it was COD with their new tech dynamic graphics scaling. This is something I like to see on all games.

Yeah that'd be a disaster. I don't think that'll happen though.

I prefer the killzone method, temporal reprojection.
Basically it just uses multiple frames to predict and fill in pixels and then uses 2 960 width frames to create a 1080P picture.

I feel pretty confident in saying 60FPS > Resolution every time

Yep. 30fps needs to be phased out for most games. I mean if it is a steady 30 it is tolerable, but 60 is so much better. I go back to my last gen console and play games that are dipping into the low 20s and it is completely unplayable for me.

PC gamers would never put up with fps that low, not sure why on the console side is different.

Agreed.

I'll take smooth 60 almost every time at expense of some tricked out particle effects and uber shadows or forcing 1080p. The exception is slow paced games or turn based games which don't need high response times. I can live with playing games like Settlers of Catan on 360 or a slow paced Bethesda RPG at 30 fps...... I swear that Settlers game had rigged cpu AI!!!

Those old Bethesda or Bioware games on 360 ran 25-30 fps. Sometimes manageable and smooth, sometimes clunky. Games still played fine. But give a shooter, racer, fighter, or fast action game a 25-30 fps frame rate and the fun will sink ten fold. Even worse when you're in a competitive online mode.

That's the key difference so far between X1 and PS4. Almost all games on PS4 are 1080p. There's only maybe 5 or 6 at less than 1080p (I think a handful of EA Sports, UBI games and BF4). X1 has many. More games coming at 1080p, but you still get some 900p games and Konami's PES 2015 was 720p.

Never the less, not forcing X1 to be 1080p leads to some gains in performance with the specs it's got. For PS4, 1080p seems to be forced no matter what kind of performance hit a game may get. They may have a res bump in some games, but at performance cost. If PS4 games dropped the res a bit, the game performance can surely be much better as a whole vs. X1, but the focus for PS4 is 1080p. So its eco-system of gaming is pigeon-holed into forcing 1080p.

FPS over resolution isn't "always" more important....it really does depend on the game. I played Dead Space 2 on pc capped at 30 fps (not sure why some games are capped). It felt buttery smooth. I'd much prefer the better visuals on that game over it being lower res.

Please be sure to leave your mouse, keyboard and master race membership card on the table on the way out the door...
