I'm not going to watch much of it. I don't watch much of the winter Olympics. Does anybody watch it religiously? I may catch the half pipe, the snowboard downhill (White pulled out because the course is awfully dangerous), speed skating and one of my favorites, curling. Yes, I enjoy watching curling.

Also, US is tracking some specific terror threats that have varying levels of credibility. With Chechnya so close to Sochi this must be a crazy time for authorities.

Yeah from what I've been reading I'm actually pretty nervous of the security threats for these Olympics.

On topic though, I don't watch the winter Olympics like I do the summer Olympics. Events I'm interested in and will try to watch are:
- Snowboard Halfpipe
- Snowboard Slopstyle
- Snowboard racing (forget the actual name)
- Bobsled (want to see Lolo)
- Curling

I also think Curling is awesome.

I just plain don't ever watch the Olympics. I barely watch the most popular sports as it is.
I don't really watch sports at all, but the Olympics is different to me. It's sports you actually don't see on TV all that often.

Sure, but it's not like I try to see them, which is more doable than ever with the internet. Not trying to offend anyone either by the way. Just throwing a couple of cents into the fire. If you enjoy the Olympics then Olympia it man. Let's see some gold medal Gumby!

I'm going to be honest, the only part of the Winter Olympics I tune into is the figure skating, women and mixed. I get a sick pleasure out of watching them eat it on the ice and there is usually plenty of drama and tears to go along with the events. Not particularly proud of myself, just telling it like it is.

Absolutely love the Olympics, especially the winter as I've always been a big fan of winter sports. That said I think these Olympics are going to be the worst in a long time. Sochi is a complete shat hole and I hope Russia falls flat on their face due to this joke.

I'll watch a bit of it, snowboarding, curling hockey and maybe some figure skating.

Hopefully there'll be no venue related disasters, substandard construction work, or terrorist attacks, which is seemingly likely...

I'll tell you this much, I hope one of these violent bigots decide to jump a rail and attack a figure skater so they can get a blade to the crotch.

Yeah I'll watch specific events.

-mens Hockey (all of it!!!) womens final
-luge, bobsled
-snowboard halfpipe and slopestyle
-some speed skating maybe
-giant slalom is always good
-and then just whatever is on if it's good

but i gotta say no f***ing way to figure skating and curling. I LOATH curling, though there was some on the other day and damn some of the chicks are getting pretty hot in that "sport" :D

SW dropped out tot the Slopestyle event and is just going to do the Halfpipe.

Anyway, what the f***, IOC???? How much money did Putin and his thugs give you all so that you would hold the Olympics in that s*** hole?

these olympics aren't going to be about the great athletes involved but the f***ing Putin sideshow. Its almost as if they want disaster to happen. f***ing unreal.

Tonight on NBC from 8-11 EST we've got:
  • Men and Women's Snowboarding Slopestyle
  • Freestyle Skiing (Women's Moguls)
  • Figure Skating (Team)
Seems weird to me to be having events even before the opening ceremony which is tomorrow night.

Yeah I find it kind of odd too

Guess I'll at least watch snowboarding slopestyle to see if anyone falls off the mountain.

I never pay much attention to the winter Olympics but I love summer Olympics. I might watch some of Winter Olympics for fun.

these are qualification rounds. it would be a mess to have qualifying and medal rounds with so many different events /sports sharing the mountain

Well it was only 3 sports though.
