2014 Sochi Olympics Discussion

Watched some of both men's and women's slopestyle. All I'm going to say is if snowboarding doesn't work out for Norwegian Silje Norendal, she could be a supermodel. I mean daayum.

Big story of the first day: Bob Costas has pink eye and thus is wearing ridiculous glasses.

So the US moguls skier than injured her ACL is the niece of one of the lift operators at the ski place near Dubuque. I talked to him today but didn't mention anything about her. Pretty neat I guess.

The dude who won Snowboarding Slopestyle (Sage something) seems like a cool kid.

The Canadian (Morris?) who won silver had some guts, he rode with a busted rib.
Yeah for sure. Crazy to think about how young these guys are. Morris is 20 I believe. Makes me question what I'm doing with my life lol.

Although I guess you could kind of compare male figure skating to male cheerleading. You may get a lot of abuse from other guys making fun of you, but at the same time you're surrounding yourself with lots of fit girls and very few other guys.

I realize how male figure skating is, but it is a shock to the system every 4 years. we tuned in for the luge and started watching the male figure skating dance program and my son asked; "is that a man?"
i had to fast forward, thank you DVR.

Well at least that Charlie guy that does ice dancing also played hockey when he was young.

Pretty sure he was high when Bob Costas was interviewing him.

lol, possibly.

I was just thinking the whole Olympic experience was kind of out of his element. Not sure if you were watching when he won gold or not but even the way he acted when someone threw him an American flag was kind of awkward to watch.

I watched the event but guess I don't really remember afterwards. Also, waiting for other events last night I saw some of the ice skating and they had the 15 year old Russian girl. One of the announcers mentioned after her performance that she finally looked 15. Um no she looked like that the whole time. The next Olympics is fair game though. :hehe:

Yeah some kind of eye infection. You'd think it'd be better by now though.

Shaun White in the Halfpipe tonight. Can't wait to see that.
