‘Rick And Morty’ Renewed For Season 3 By Adult Swim

In the wake of a solid Season 2 premiere, Adult Swim has picked up a third season of animated comedy series Rick And Morty. Created and exec produced by Dan Harmon(Community) and Justin Roiland, Rick And Morty centers on a sociopathic scientist who drags his dim grandson on adventures across the universe.

The series’ Season 2 premiere on July 26 ranked No. 1 in its time period among all key adults and men. It also saw triple-digit gains over its Season 1 premiere, up 154% P18-24, up 117% P18-34, and up 121% P18-49. From Week 1 to Week 2 the series saw a gain of up to 27% among all key demos, according to Nielsen.

I wasn't as into Season 2 as I was the first. I feel like they tried too hard to bring in drama without expanding on storylines that already existed in season 2, like Evil Morty or how Rick managed to get a family in the first place. I'm still excited for the next season, but I just hope they get more of what Season 1 so good into the second. That said, that clip is awesome. Real big step up in what usually goes on. Looking forward to seeing how Rick gets turned into a f***ing pickle.

Also, shameless promotion of my Rick and Morty fanart:

I really dig that Rickle though. Gonna have to do something there.

Rick and Morty season 3 episode 1 gets surprise release on April Fool's Day - here's how to watch

Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland have been playing games with Rick and Morty fans, teasing season three without delivering anything of any particular substance.

The duo went as far as to Rick Roll fans by announcing a first look at season three, but instead releasing old clips pieced together to form the lyrics to ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’.

However, on April Fool’s Day (of all days), the first new episode of Rick and Morty was released, unannounced, on Adult Swim, leading to a frenzy of viewers tuning in.
