After reading this thread I went out and bought the game.

I'm only 2 hours in and... Wow! I'm gonna wait until night time to keep playing! This game oooozes atmosphere! Amazing scripting at the start too! I can't believe there wasn't more fuss made about the graphics and art direction!

Nope to much bitching about the resolution despite it being one of last gens best looking games.

What they gotta do is figure out a budget that will make a publisher comfortable. Even Sam Lake said it. It's all about those sales out of the gate for a game like this. In my opinion, perhaps Remedy should consider a smaller production similar to American Nightmare or take the episodic DLC route entirely since the first game is built like a TV series.

MS originally wanted them to continue with DLC/Spin offs but Remedy wanted the AAA sequel.

I can't blame MS from the business side of things. Plus, it kind of fits the format better. Oh well, it's on them to get the funding somehow at the end of the day. Maybe they can do a kickstarter.

C'mon Ms do it. Game was so great I bought 2 LE edition from Amazon.com and I still have them sealed till this day.

But anyway, I'd be surprised if there's another true alan wake game (non-dlc) in the near future knowing that the 1st game didn't sold that well.

Over 3M sold but that includes bundles and people buying it cheap. The big problem was that over 1M pirated it.

Maybe MS and Remedy should do a Alan Wake HD collection combining the game, DLC, XBLA game, and the mini-series made to promote the game into one collection. Maybe add in some new levels and some playable snippets of the old Alan Wake.

I they only sold 1 copy, and it was to me, I wouldn't care! Awesome game is awesome!

Sounds like it's still a possibility, once they finish Quantum Break.

That looked cool.

Also does anyone know what the name of song that played midway through the video? It sounded like U2. But I'm not sure.

This is one of the negatives of Microsoft. Why not greenlight a sequel to try to build a fanbase?

I know we got American Nightmare. But it seemed way scaled down.

Tube it

Wouldn't be surprised if a remaster is announced at E3. Sort of feels like they are reminding people of AW at the moment.

AW2 would have been cool, but after the DLC's and the rather very mediore American Nightmare, i for one am happy they are coming with a new IP first.

I never really imagined them to pick up where they left off with Alan. For the second game I always imagined the title to be someone else's and have it tie in with what happened to Alan. I just hope they work on it right after Quantum Break.

Personally I think the sequel should be Alice Wake, focusing on Alice confronting her fear of darkness to rescue her husband. She could use her photography to combat the Darkness in the same basic way that Alan uses his writing.

The remaster sounds like it is definitely happening. Too much chatter.

I love American Nightmare.

I at first too, but then i got to the part where i had to redo the exact same stuff over again, and again...it bored me to s*** to be honest. :)

This whole AW 2 stuff is interesting, a friend of me went ''Well...there you have it. If there's going to be a AW1, it will end up on PS4 now as well.'' I asked where he got that stuff from, Polygon he said. That Polygon article brings some AW2 stuff as if it's a fact...all Sam Lake says is that AW is still Remedy's thing, they can do whatever they want with a sequel. In no way does that mean it will definitely end up on PS4. If i have to guess..i'd say a lot is going to depend on the success of Quantum Break, if that becomes a big hit, and Remedy starts discussing AW2 with Microsoft....it could happen that MS will finance it but with the condition that AW stays on Xbox One. Anything can happen really...but i find it funny that people and sites already conclude it will definitely go multiplatform, lol.

As long as it comes to Xbox I don't care if other platforms get it.

Alan Wake remaster is coming with Quantum Break preorder. Bank on it. :)
