Altered Carbon - Season 2 Trailer

Best looking 4k netflix original

Yep...outside of games, this is the first movie/series that the HDR as blown me away,it's normal with all the lighting and evening/night stuff, very well done.I bought BR 2049 in 4K/HDR but havent watched it yet,I hope the HDR is just as good,I was impressed with the HDR in Alien Covenant.

Watched the second episode last night. So good. Haven't been this hyped for a show since The Expanse. The difference is that for someone like myself that likes to just watch an episode at a time to reflect on it a bit before watching the next, it's hard not to just blast through all of them.

Maybe I need to read the book first, but so far, I'm in the minority. I saw the first episode and thought it was really flat. I loved the visual style and concept. The female cop and her partner are just cringy to watch in terms of acting, so were the client's son and his wife that lived above the clouds. Those 3-4 characters just pulled me out of the experience and stomped on my face.

Also, I just don't see the originality I was expecting. I get what they're trying to do, it just didn't work for me. I'm going to try and make it through episode 2.

It makes me want a Deus Ex Human Evolution series though.

I remember when I read the book I was at least half way through before stuff started to make sense. Now, it is one of my favorite series.

I'd give it a little time if you are confused but interested. They've stuck to the book well, but the Quell stuff just doesn't come across the same as in the books.

Couldn’t agree more. When the intuition stuff starts coming together in the book and you realize all the hints were there in front you the whole time it kind of blows your mind. That doesn’t seem to come across as well in the show.

Do we know if yet if the first season is just tied to the first book. Need to know that we'll get more of this show damn it.

The current season is the first book. I don’t think the other two books were optioned. So I would think it’s unlikely we’ll see another one at the moment. If it proves to be a hit though, who knows what might happen.

Haven't really looked into confirmation, but a post on Reddit someone said a second season has already been approved.

We won’t have to wait long I think. Netflix usually make their decisions with weeks of a show coming out. We’ll find out soon enough for sure. So I wonder if they’ll option the other novels or create something completely new. The other two books are completely different. He’s in a different sleeve in a war zone fighting rouge settlement machines in one and investigating a mystery involving aliens in another.

I didn't get the intuition thing at all. It was cool for him to see through walls in the first episode but they never really go anywhere with it. Unless I'm missing something.

The intuition is the best part of the character and it doesn’t come across that great in the show to be honest. He can’t actually see through walls or do anything like that. But his hearing and impression of a situation is super enhanced.

The scene where he comes out of the torture VR was under developed. In the book that’s the first you see what he is actually capable of doing. I think they missed a serious character development with the way it was shown in the show. So far it’s my my only complaint. Still only half way through though.

6 episodes down. Been entertaining enough but have not been amazed by it.

Watched episode 5 last night...

I swear to god if Ortega needs a new sleeve I'll cry. Also this might seem odd, but wish she didn't get naked. Don't get me wrong I started sweating, but there is also something to having an imagination as well.

Well she doesn't in the book so I assume she won't here either.

Watched the first episode and I don't think I care for it. It seems too far into the future and I don't feel like I can relate to anything at all. Everyone acts so peculiar.

One of the core concepts is that you are not meant to be able to relate to it. People aren’t physical beings any more. They are digital. The whole theme of it is about what we have lost as a species because of cortical stack tech and the impact it has had on society.

I'm still not finished yet. I like it but I'm not sure about all the changes. I remember reading that they followed the book almost exactly, but there are a ton of changes. Still amazing visually and still really well done. I really am not cool with the changes to Kovacs past. Makes him out to be a little more of the "good guy" which he really isn't in the books. It is a subtle difference but still important.

Finished it up last night. Definitely watching it again at some point and want to read the book. Reading a Reddit thread now on viewing numbers from Neilsen or something and some of these people... I don't think understand this is based on a book lol. And some others that very obviously weren't paying attention.

2 episodes in and I've loved what I've seen so far... Well, except for one thing.

I'm loving the stories, I like that the actors are kind of ugly-hot, the lighting is bonerific, the set design feels like there's real grit and dirt, there's consistencies with the make-up/scars/scabs through the episodes so far, and the musical score is pretty sweet...

But f***ing hell. The guy who got murdered, his wife.... She has the cheapest freaking acrylic nails. She's meant to be beyond wealthy, and they look like they're discarded press-ons that a dragqueen rejected for being too bulbous.

She has great ribs though.

I just started re reading the book and they have actually changed quite a lot of things. Mostly small stuff but there is a lot of it.
