Yeah its real handy. Get the sub for the month and then search for 'Anthem Demo' in the store and you'll find it. You need to search for that whole string. When you cancel the sub before 10 days have past you get the money back.

Bioware just said they are adding a social hub to Anthem because the fans asked for it. Its nice that they are showing how they are listening to the community. But the fact that this was not already in the game and had to be added after gamers asked for it is a little worrying. For a co-op focused loot-shooter one would think a social hub would be obvious, then again Fallout 76 doesn’t have one either. There are some screenshots of it and it looks pretty barebones and only supports 16 players. Still, its nice they were able to add it in before launch.
 
There's matchmaking for everything, right? (or is that Div 2?).

What's funny is the things people dislike are making me want to buy it more. No PVP. More solo play or co-op with matchmade randoms.

I don't get the need for a social hub exactly. Destiny 1 and 2 has one and it serves no real purpose. The vendors are there, but the fact that some random players are there or not is irrelevant. Aren't player communities going to come up outside the game anyway?

DAMN IT JANET!!! I get up purposely at 5am to play the demo....and it is not online until 9am????? WHERE IS THE DAMN MEMO :(

At the official Anthem site I read 10am EST, so I take that as 9am CDT. No matter, I am at work until 4pm CDT :(
 
Here's the best info I could find. Just says the demo ends Sunday, so that could be at the same time it starts today (not sure though, but plan accordingly)

Anthem VIP Demo, start time and Open Demo dates
There are three dates you need to bear in mind (it's never easy with EA launches...):

  • Anthem VIP Demo start date and end date - Friday, January 25th to Sunday, January 27th
  • Anthem Open Demo start date and end date - Friday, February 1st to Sunday, February 3rd
  • Anthem release date - Friday, 22nd February 2019
The Anthem VIP Demo start time and Open Demo start time are the same across both events:

  • UK: 5pm (BST)
  • Europe: 4pm (CEST)
  • East Coast US: 12pm (EDT)
  • West Coast US: 9am (PDT)

I'm sure this info is out there, but I can't be bothered to Google anything anymore. Does this VIP Demo (or any of the demos I guess) count towards your actual game if you decide to buy? Or will you have to play over again?

Most of what I read says the demo is a specific build, so no, progress won't carry over.

Most likely the demo will have a much faster progression so people can get a better feel in short time.

They’ve stated that the demo will have a much faster progression rate and you’ll get 100 coins to outfit your character with

Servers at capacity and can't connect. Good start there, EA & Bioware.

Been watching on Twitch at work. I like what I see so far! I just wish I was home playing it!
 
I wish I had access to the demo but I wanted to hold off on preordering until I was sure. I'm home now and have been watching a stream and the game looks cool but it seems like its missing something. I think the combat overall doesn't look as flashy as I thought it would with the combo system. In Mass Effect the combo system had all these cool effects but so far in Anthem they lack that on-screen punch.
 
Yup, I can’t get in either. It went live at noon here, and there are still connection problems. Grrrr.
 
Same. 4 hours later. If I had preordered this I’d be annoyed.
 
I'm not sure they wouldnt have really ramped up their servers? Wouldnt it be better to over plan than to low ball it and run Into all these problems? I know this happens with every game of this type at launch, but you think someone would have learned how to better handle the launch of a live game.
