Anyone feeling the summer drought yet?

My Steam backlog is a mother f***er. I'll never have this problem.

It's not really facts, though, it's just opinion. For TD, the X1 is overflowing with possibilities. For naty (mangoes), it's not. It's a matter of opinion, and the opinion depends on your tastes in games. This is obvious but gets forgotten all the time. People state their opinions as if they are indisputable facts. This is the problem.

"The X1 has nothing until Fall."

"The Xbox One has more games right now, that's all there is to it."

And so forth.

I don't have a problem with Mangoes' post (he didn't say exclusives, though). I'm just saying that when you phrase opinions about the "other side" as facts, you are inviting the same in return (enter TD, saying X1 is da greatest and that's a fact) and other fanboy nonsense.

Unless someone can prove me wrong about my statement "no big exclusives out" until Fall, I don't see how this was a dig at the X1.

The next big x1 exclusive is forza horizon 2 at the end of September right? correct me if I'm wrong , anyone.

I don't see why it would be considered talking down on the X1 unless the truth is considered an insult now these days?

I am taking advantage of the drought to play through games I missed. I just bought darksiders 2 for only ten bucks with the Xbox summer deal and I am loving it.
I was going to buy the Last of us but I am going to wait. Although it is an amazing game I am not double dipping so soon. It was definitely my favorite game of last year but it is also emotional taxing to play. When you finish you feel like you have been on a journey. To all those that haven't played it I heartedly recommend it.

I was going to wait but the E3 deal and the absence of any big name exclusives coming out in the summer made me get it earlier.

I will definitely buy it but for now my Ps3 version works fine. But man...what a game! My wife and I will probably cave.

The only drought I'm likely to suffer is by that of a hosepipe ban in my area.

I still own a 360, there are several thousand games in its library, most of which I haven't experienced yet. I receive two games a month as part of my Xbox Live Gold subscription, many of which I still haven't got round to playing.

When I turn the console on I'm not scratching my head with the dilemma of nothing to play, rather trying to pick from dozens on my hard drive that I do want to play.

First world problems innit.

I guess I just read the statement literally, as "Xbox has nothing until Fall," rather than in light of the (edited, I believe) previous sentence. I thought to myself, "Nothing is releasing on the X1 between now and Fall? Don't multiplatform games count? What about indies?" etc. But I see what you are saying now.

I also heard the following indies are coming to PS4 in August:

The Swapper - side-scroller, puzzler, supposedly atmospheric, set on abandoned space station.

Road Not Taken - challenging puzzler, based on exploration and moving stuff around, I think (it's not clear to me).

Also, Minecraft.

p.s. Anyone who can't find anything to play right now should give Valiant Hearts a shot.

My personal opinion on gaming droughts are that to even mention it you either 1.) have narrow interests or 2.) spend an unhealthy amount of your time gaming. Woe to us that are neither as we have an insurmountable backlog of games to play/finish.

Obviously most have a backlog, but of course we're looking for that "new" game. We want that shiny new thing that excites us. I want to game on my X1, not go back to my 360, even though my 360 backlog alone is huge.

Alright guys lets bring it in for a hug now.

lol, Naty (er, Dried Fruit or whatever he's calling himself now) knows that I like him. It was a misunderstanding.

However, I have to say, it just didn't occur to me that, in a thread about summer drought, he'd be referring only to big, full-scale, exclusive games, excluding multiplatforms. I think that's why I read it simply as stated ("Xbox has nothing").

Saying the Xbox One has nothing coming and acting like the PS4 has anything is ridiculous. The Last of Us remaster.. It's a last gen game with sprinkles on top. Sony sure is killing Microsoft this year!

The thread is worthless. That's all I was pointing out. If you want to discuss the usual Summer drought we get every year, go for it. No need for the blatant bias though.

Do you realize how much of a hypocritical fanboy you look like? Every post you make in this forum is biased and nobody takes you serious, yet you are freaking out/ruining a thread in which the thread creator made an unintentional slightly biased statement.

And for those who never owned a PS3 or played TLOU, the remastered version is a huge deal. It was GOTY last year and arguably one of the best, if not the best game of last generation.

And where does the thread starter compare Sony and Microsoft's exclusives for the entire year or state that Sony is killing Microsoft? He's only talking about the lineup for the next two months, which are always weak spots for both consoles. Winning this timeframe is nothing to brag about for either side.

There's a summer drought?

Wouldn't know it looking at my Steam library. Guess it's a console thing.

Not sure if this is complete, but this is what I know of coming in August

Below
Ultra Street fighter
Sacred 3
Risen 3
Wasteland 2
The Last of Us
Metro Redux
Samurai Warriors 4

You would think, but it seems if you do not put it in people assume you are trying to state a fact.
Below is definitely coming in August? On X1? Can you show a link?

I feelz ya dog. I think the game looks awesome too. Been watering at the mouth for it since it was first shown.
Yeah coming out in August would have been awesome too, right in the middle of the "drought" before some other big games hit. Though IMO Below could be one of the biggest hits this Fall if it were to release in the Fall.

Summer drought? theres been a drought since day one. I own both consoles, both launch day purchases and I'm playing Fifa on the PS4 only.

NBA 2K14 just fizzled out, Killzone I was only interested in the single player it just sits there and in regards to the Xbox One Forza, I just don't feel the want to play it.

Roll on September/October and November Fifa, Halo MCC and Call Of Duty.

Summer is the best time for PC gamers.

The great summer sales.
