Anyone feeling the summer drought yet?

Its getting old kiddo

Yet the OP is a diehard PS fan and it's suspect that he made the thread only to say the Xbox One has no games to play this Summer. How is that even possible considering he just bought his X1 like 2 weeks ago? Rofl. I agree, it's totally getting old. I on the other hand told the truth. There's nothing to play on the PS4 right now and there will be nothing besides The Last of Us remaster. A great game but a last gen game. The Xbox One has more games right now, that's all there is to it.

Makes you wonder why he purchased The One in the first place. It’s a pretty sizable investment and one would think a minimal of research would have been done prior to its purchase. Seems backwards to me to purchase the system first and then notice there is nothing to play after. Ohh well, his money not mine.

Sounds like he bought it just so he could justify complaining about it. All i've seen from him is negativity towards the console. Why you'd drop hundreds of dollars on something just to bash it is beyond me. Complaining about Ryse's install time and whatever. Now there's no games to play for it after owning it for 2 weeks? Absolutely hilarious.

That wasn't the OP point @ all

He bought it because he is a gamer.

Ok, so here’s a few suggestions to get the OP over the summer time slowness of big game releases. There a lot of free to play games available on the PS4. War Thunder just dropped and I’ve read it’s a little rough around the edges but good overall. If FTP is not to your liking then I suggest looking at the sales for various games on either console marketplace.

Black Flag was recently discounted on the Xbox store. Dead rising 3 for the X1 is stupid fun game with some of the most bizarrely creative weapons that are sure to make any gamer laugh. Plants v. Zombies for X1 is also a lot of fun. But if you’re a pixel counter you might want to wait for it to release on the PS4 next month. It runs at 900p on X1.

The Killzone co-op addition recently launched and while I didn’t think much of it go and check out some videos and see for yourself. If you haven’t already go out and pick up Infamous: Second Son. It’s a stunningly beautiful game that is a lot of fun to play. It doesn’t have a lot of side mission content but the main campaign is a lot of fun and there is DLC on the way next month.

These are just a few examples of what’s out there to play right now. It could be true that none of those games appeal to you. And if that’s the case all I have to say is…..it sucks to be you. :p

playing through wolfenstein right now, destiny beta is in a few days, last ofus remaster releases afew days after that... so no, there's a steady stream of games for me!

lol, nah. I've already finished Ryse which was what I was interested in getting the X1 in the first place. No interest in DR series having played the first and second. Tried Killer Instinct, didn't really get into it that much since I'm not a fan of fighting games. There really isn't much to play until FH2 and Sunset Overdrive aside from Forza 5.

I got it for $270 all in for Kinect bundle and Forza 5. I don't see myself being able to get that bundle in the next 1-2 years so why not? I have interest in FH 2 and Sunset Overdrive but thanks for jumping to conclusions. Why do people seem so butthurt over a thread that had no attacks on the X1 at all? I'm talking about the general drought of summer. Yet people selectively read that "X1 has no games" part. Go figure. Notice how the thread went to a turn for the worse once TD jumped in? Then other xbox fans ran away with it and started derailing this further and further. Good job, people.

You couldn't be any more wrong. I bought it because I wanted to experience all games that I would be interested in without restriction as a gamer. Every console has its negatives but I'm sorry that I can't keep posting about Xbox being the pinnacle of gaming in every thread. I see things for what they are.

I finished AC4 on the PS4 way back in November/December 2013 when it came out. As I said , no interest in DR series having played 1 and 2. PvZ GW I'm not sure if I'm getting it yet. It's online only isn't it?

I sold my KZ: SF already so co-op addition won't apply to me. I platinum-ed Infamous in the first month of its release. The problem is I've pretty much played all the big name titles I've wanted to. The next one will be TLoU remastered and that's only for the PS4. On the X1, nothing until at least the end of September so I guess I'll probably just be playing the Games for Gold until then... unless I'm able to trade Ryse for DR3 to give it a go.

Most have a preference, only some stealth troll.
Naty is one unfortunately.

I'm sorry you feel that way but I never stealth troll. I call them as I see it in the open. You can read over my postings; my perspective has changed since Phil has been at the helm of Xbox. Facts are there's no exclusive big titles coming out until end of September for the X1 unless you can show me one. PS4 only has one so it would be in the same position if they didn't have TLoU coming out.

I'm pretty surprised at some of the posts from some of you here. This thread was as unbiased as you could get. Pointed out there was a general drought in the summer for both consoles yet I still get attacked as being Sony-biased? Unbelievable.

You know, re-reading that post, all I can think of is how there's a total of 10 games to play on that list.

Sorry, I was talking about the big name games.

All of those games I mentioned I got from either PS+ or Games with Gold outside of Forza 5.

Uber difficulty?

Man, I finished it on Uber and some parts in Wolfenstein are just straight out frustrating but I learned that using the beam gun was the best strategy in taking down heavy enemies.

Just going by your posting history, sorry

and that's only for the PS4. The X1 has nothing until Fall.

Comes across as just another one of your stealth digs.

Like a good stealth troll you will now feign surprise that I would say such a thing....

Like I said, give me one big exclusive title that is coming out until then? Funny how you like to selectively read over that part. Otherwise, I'm just stating the facts. Sorry if it doesn't pertain to your taste.

True, but there are a lot of games available between both platforms which is the most important thing.

I've played most of them. Actually I may pick up Dead Rising 3, it's only $20 at Target Canada it seems.

Even then, you're hardly in a drought. If anything, it sounds like you have quite a selection to choose from. Especially in having two consoles.

Hey DriedMangoes, I understand the hesitation towards Dead Rising 3. I didn't like the other games in the series. But with DR 3 they made some changes most notably was the lessening of the timer restriction. You will have more than enough time to complete everything. And it has co-op and a there is a lot of DLC to add to the experience. I haven't yet purchased the Street Fighter themed DLC for it but it looks like crazy fun.

Plants v. Zombies is a online only game. But it comes backed with content. You have a co-op horde mode with tower defense elements where you can use potted plants for reinforcements and there are boss battles. For the competitive side there are various modes of play some similar to Battlefield and the game features a mega amount of character customization. If you can find Titanfall on discount I also recommend it. In my opinion it lacks content especially compared to PvZ but its a fun shooter. Once you master the traversal element you be zipping across the battlefield wasting people in no time. And the Mechs add a nice touch of giant sized destruction.

Have you tried any of the free to play offerings on the PS4? Warframe is fun but got repetitive. But that was a while ago and I've read there have been some changes to the game which is tempting me to give it another go. I've also read good things about DC Online for a superhero fix. Ohh yeah, if you haven't yet played it I highly recommend Tomb Raider on the PS4. I was really surprised at just how good that game was. Its one of the few titles I've played on new hardware that I went for a second play-thru after completing it the first time. Its so good.

Yes, I'll still be able to find something to play but none of those titles really make me want to go and play it that much like how Watch Dogs or Wolfenstein does. Oh well, I'm just waiting for Transistor and Valiant Hearts to have a discount as well so I can play them.

Yeah, I think I'll go and give DR3 a try. It's only $20 right now. Should last me until TLoU remastered along with all the other titles I've listed.
TF , I've tried the beta on PC. Definitely a no go since it got old quickly for me. No SP really brought down the appeal for me since I play most of my competitive FPS on the PC.

PvZ, I'm still thinking about it so it's a maybe.

I beat TR DE back in January already too. It was a great game. I haven't tried much of PS4's F2P offerings yet because I feel like they're going to be a grind of which I don't want to spend hours and hours on.
