Are you buying a Playstation 4? Why or why not?

In comparison to the XBO and its games/services.....

+ Better 1st party exclusives/devs
+ Lower priced
+ More powerful
+ Better controller
+ PS+ offers much more
+ Better launch games/better versions of 3rd party games
+ Upgradable HDD that's SSD capable
+ Better UI

Have you had actual experience with both controllers?
Have you had actual experience with the UIs of both?
What launch games are newly announced? Anything new in the last couple of days I don't know about? Probably the weakest exclusive game console launch I can remember in the last 12 years, but I agree their 1st part games could be better, but we don't know that either.

Yes I have as the XBO controller is virtually the same as the 360 controller.
I watched videos on both's UI's and also prefer the current PS UI over the current XB one.
The whole PS4 launch lineup is available to see all over and yes its better imo then the XBO as the XBO has ONLY ONE launch game worth mentioning to me.

yes one day. right now I got far to many games I need to play on PS3 and 360 hell I still got a ton of unplayed xbox and PS2 games and wii also to bother with a new system. I can handle playing $400 for the system but then $60 for each game on top of that to rich for my blood.

I will own PS4 one day.

I'm getting a PS4 over One cause well PS4 is cheaper more powerful and will have exclusives I care about. I don't care about all this TV BS and other crap MS is tiring to sell with One and MS does not have any exclusives I care about. They're UI is also to ad filled and I find live a rip-off next to PSN+.

Ok, I just don't see how watching videos of the ps4 controller, UI of both xbox and ps4 automatically gives the ps4 the nod in both areas. I don't like the look of the ps3's UI, but I think its better, so if I saw just videos of it, I would go with the xbox 360s UI. UI is about how it functionality, and that takes some stress test to fully realize/
I've never really heard many say the ps4's launch titles are better, even on super pro sony forums seems like a more xbox launch there acknowledgement at least, but you are a huge KZ fan so that makes sense. I'll be on there first part of 2014 sometime.

I plan on getting a ps4 on day one. Mainly because I have the money to get both consoles at the moment and I've never ever gotten a console at launch before. I'm a little disappointed at the launch line up tbh but whatever. I never had a ps3 and I missed out on a lot of games so I told myself I wouldn't skip sony this time. Killzone looks amazing too and second son.

I own and use my PS4 controller...It offers more ie touch pad and better vibration features.
I suggest you take a long at the whole PS4 launch lineup in comparison to the XBO.
Maybe somebody can post both consoles launch games....

Neither console at launch, x1 has a stronger launch lineup than the quad but still not good enough for me to buy at launch. the quad has a weak launch lineup like the trey had (ps1 and 2 were much better on launch games). but with the trey, blu ray being new on the market was a selling point and so i got it at launch for the BD player. with the quad, there is nothing which drives me towards it at launch, no game or feature.

Will wait till next year before making the leap to next generation and have both consoles next year. This year the money is going towards upgrading to some awesome new HT speakers.

Yes I'm getting a PS4, Why? because I want to!! :p

I had to cancel my preorder.

Did my finances for the next year and it's going to be tight as i am out of work until next september.

Definitely will purchase one though once i am back to work, if i am not persuaded to go with a steam box next year this time.

What about the UI, you didn't respond to that? Video evidence is all you have I'd assume. I've seen the ps4 launch, just curious if something new I wasn't aware of was announced. I thought it was a slightly below average lineup before DC club was pushed back.

Originally I was going to wait about a year before I decided which console I wanted but last night I pulled the trigger on a PS4. $150 off a brand new console was too much for me to resist, it doesnt ship until Dec. 9 but thats fine with me.

I would like to but didn't pre order so who knows when I will be able to get one.

Whoah, good deal.

If I saw a PS4 for $250, I'd probably jump, too.

I am getting the PS4, but i tend to agree the launch X1 lineup is more enticing among the bigger titles. However, if we include the launch window games i actually prefer the PS4 lineup. You have your standard launch games mentioned like Forza, DR3, and Ryse for X1 with really only Titanfall and maybe Spark being mentioned as bigger window games. On PS4 you have Killzone and Knack at launch, with MLB the Show (was announced this week), Deep Down, Infamous, and Drive Club being launch window games. Of course both sides could argue a few more titles on either side. The window games for X1 is 6 games and 31 games for the PS4. The PS4 also has more launch titles as well (slightly more). Even if you hate indies, still alot of games for the PS4.

So unless you are leaving to Antarctica and cannot get games past launch, i am not sure i believe the X1 has a games advantage if you open the scope just a little bit more. I am sure i'll be joining both tribes in time but if you are really about the games, i think its hard to overlook the PS4, unless one is just intent on doing so.

Personally, no, at least not for a long while. If I was 20 years younger and single and had enough time to devote to gaming to justify having both consoles, I would, but I can't at this point in time. It's a shame because I think the PS4 is shaping up to be an excellent console, but I just prefer the other one.

Yes. I love Sony's franchises. So my purchase is more for "potential" than anything at launch.
Killzone will be mine though. Looks great.

I love the fact that Sony learned from past mistakes. Not only giving us a great piece of hardware that was built with developers input, but also priced at a reasonable entry price point.

The PS4 will likely be my third party go to console as the 360 was this generation.

Yes Im getting mine day one. I don't care for the new controller much but I guess I'll have to get used to it. Its not a quality issue it just doesnt feel comfortable to me personally. Dat Killzone though..... drools.

I generally get every console, but I'll wait until a game comes that I am really looking forward to, so it will most likely be at least a year as nothing on the horizon is trigger enough for me at the moment. We'll see how 1886 shapes up.

It is a definite improvement on the DS3 in my opinion, which itself was a HUGE improvement from the originally released 6 axis (too lite).

I'm getting one next year. With them so close together I can't afford both. Hopefully around tax return time. As to why; I like having both and playing what is exclusive to both. Pretty simple.

I didn't preorder, Any chance of finding one on the shelves around launch time?

Yup

Do I want one? Yes, but I have kids now so I don't get to game like I use to. Even harder to justify that amount of money for two consoles.

I thought it was interesting that Sony released the Last of Us and GT on the PS3 and not waited for the PS4. As I think the XBO has a little better first year line up.

Sometimes its the little things like the HDMI pass through and Kinect that just make the system family friendly that make the difference.

Exact reasons why I'm not getting a PS4 anytime soon. Possibly in 2-3 years to play some PS exclusives.

Well, I'm in that older and married crowd and as you can pretty well guess, gaming gets different at that point. I can afford myself one console and right now that's leaning towards the Xbox One. I simply can't justify to my wife getting a games only console, it has to do more things and things that she can enjoy as well.

My fiendish plan is to get her hooked on some silly Kinect game meanwhile I can blast away little kids in Titanfall or Halo. Also, maybe she will like the TV voice commands, once they work with our provider.

If I just got a PS4 she would give me dirty looks all day and think that I was a manchild. Yeah I'm a manchild but I don't want it to be that obvious.

You said it all in your first sentence, the X1 launch lineup is more exciting, most of us here are getting both consoles, so by the time ps4 has more of an actual launch, I'll get that. So I'll be getting 2 complete launches. I think getting a ps4 at Infamous SS release is perfect timing to me. Most likely I'll like KZ and especially DC too.

You might as I hear some US stores have a handful more consoles in their storerooms to accommodate.

Sony have been pushing to do this with the larger chains so more people can buy.
