Slow news day?

The game has 80 to 100 hours worth of content. So, the price of the game is well covered.
The 'it effects the game cause it is OP' comment is hilarious. It is a SP game. It has zero effect.
The prices, as far as I have seen, seem be standard price for modern games.

Do I think they are overpriced, absolutely.

Picked it up today but have ran into a lot of scenes where characters mouths don't move when they talk and it really breaks immersion. Saw they said it will be fixed next patch. I'll just wait to play it.

Interesting. I'm 35 hours in and haven't seen it on my XSS as of yet.

I've never even seen the store in this game.
Ha, me either. Knowing from the outset that I will not ever buy anything from a game's in-game store means I've not seen the store in many of the games I've played that had them. It's something I have not nor will likely ever do. A game would have to have something really special at far too reasonable a price to even tempt me so I doubt it'll ever happen, hahaha..

I'm the same. I'm usually completely over a game by the end anyway... Unless it's the Witcher 3 which I did buy both DLC expansions. Typically I ignore all DLC.

Ass Creed: Val is very long. Complaining about having to pay for DLC on that game is dumb. You more than get your money's worth with the vanilla version.

People act like if you buy a game you are entitled to everything that comes after is included. All that stuff takes time and money to make. Keeping people employed requires it, as does needing money to fund the next game...

The Valhalla store is filled with armor/weps & other cosmetics and I think its a valid complaint when you look at how much is in the store in comparison to what the player can earn in the game by playing it, a game they paid for. I really liked Valhalla and I'm waiting for new gameplay content to be added but their store offerings being updated weekly with new armor, weapons and other cosmetic items is out of hand.

DLC and the items in an in-game store are 2 different things I feel as far as what consumers are entitled to. Charging for substantial post-launch DLC is a different prospect entirely than a launch day store-front full of additional armors that were obviously done when the game released. Adding content in the weeks that follow is fine but all these things are always over priced...

Except that the game has more content than most games for the same price. There is nothing wrong with planning for different revenue streams concurrently. It would have it's own resources and budgeting allocated for it. Valhalla has a justifiable level of content for the price.

You don't have to buy the DLC to get the full experience. I never do.

Right well like I said I differentiate between DLC and microtransaction content. I'll buy DLC expansions for games if I really enjoyed the base game and want more of it, but I think it's really lame to release a game that has a bunch of extra content in it's mtx store day one for MORE money. That is just nickel and diming people straight up. Pretty sure I read somewhere they had an equal number of armor sets in the store from the get go as there are in the game. I guess I can't really blame them, they recognized that people were stupid enough to buy content that probably should've already been in the game so they're just capitalizing on the willingness of the consumers. I will never be one of those people though.

I wonder if anyone else has experienced persistent crashes/freezes of Valhalla, specifically on XSX.

The last time I played the game was back in January and I don't remember having this much trouble back them. I played over 100 hrs. to complete the main campaign and most of the side missions.

But last night I booted the game up to try out the River Raids and the new Festival. After speaking to one NPC about the festival the game froze. I tried again and the game crashed to the dashboard. I restarted and decided to try out the Raids and after one raid the game froze. Re-booted the game and after a few more raids the game crashed again to the dashboard.

It just feels like each update made the game more unstable and harder to enjoy. I don't know, maybe I was just unlucky.

I gave up on it because I was locked out of too many doors. Hopefully I can force myself to get through it someday.

You mean the doors you need to find another way in? I kind of got annoyed they made it such a big part of the game.

Those puzzles are annoying, but there's almost always a pattern to them. Do the click the stick ping thing and find the red piece you need to shoot. Look around for any kind of handy spot to climb up to and shoot through the window. Almost always the opposite side of the door.

There's also lots of areas that can be shot and broken that aren't obvious. Just aim an arrow and wait for it to go red. There's always either a window to shoot through or a weak spot.

I end up ignoring most of the side quests, just because the game is easy and you don't really need to level up much to get through the main game.

Yea I know there's a fairly easy way around around most of them, some of them can be a little tricky (no obvious close paths) but I just really wanna get through and finish the game.

I got stuck about 3/4 through and now it just takes up precious space on my XSX hard drive.

I do wanna finish the game I'm invested in the story, but there's so much left to do not to mention the asgard portion of it, one day maybe.

YES. I get severe motion sickness, and it annoys me having to needlessly look around everywhere looking for a way in. Several times there wasn't a way in until the story meant for me to go to certain locations. I've spent more time exploring than I have with the story missions.

I've not had the motivation to return to this game in some time. I'm thinking of just blasting through the remaining story and shipping it back. What AC has become no longer appeals to me it seems.

I actually really like the game, but it is just too long. This was my "launch" game for XSX back in November and I've played a ton of it and still am not close to the end. It is a good game, but not a "take months and months" kind of game.

There's still plenty of side stuff to keep people who really do want to dedicate months to this game going.

Started playing over the Christmas break. I like it but the AI is really bad. During raids they just stand there sometimes while I kill their buddies.

I don't remember the AI being this bad in Odyssey or Origins (my favorite AC)

Yeah the AI isn't great.

If you're lucky you might finish the game by Xmas 2024. The story is way too long and way too bloated and isn't all that good.

AC Valhalla is a step back in a lot of ways in regards to Odyssey... First AC game I didn't finish within 4 months.
The fighting is the worst in the series history, not sure what happened there.
It's a solid 7/10 though imo.

It's fun for the first 25 hours, then the last 25 hours is a drag. I just started completing main quests and wanted to rush through the story and end it.
