hrudey had save problems before. So as soon I read about it, I just started doing 3 saves at a time.

Yeah, mine was manual saves in two slots plus a f***ton of autosaves that were lost. I think the game glitched going up to a cairn so maybe that had something to do with it, but I've also taken to the quit to title menu, check to confirm that the continue menu shows the current game, and then quit game from the home screen.

Yeah I gave up on quick resume. I lost a Vahalla save but I make multiple saves so it wasn't a big loss. The game loads up fast enough anyway.

Going to stop using Quick Resume then.
You may be okay if you just quit to title screen when you're done playing. I apparently just did that and then when I signed back in this morning it was still there, but it may not have needed quick resume because I don't think my son played anything last night.

Finally wrapped this up this morning. Maybe might have finished sooner if cyberpunk's next gen patch happened but since it hasn't I done did errthing (except the contacts, because why?). Buggy game but a really good time. AC seems to be in a pretty solid groove right now, so while I don't expect to get the DLC, I'm probably down for the next sequel when it drops. Maybe doing it exclusively next gen will make the bugs they have be less destructive and more annoyances.

It is really a great looking game. Too long though. I think I'm past half way at this point but feel like I have a long way to go.

I think I need to turn up the difficulty too as I can basically destroy anyone. I un-equpped the really good Twitch gear and still am wrecking.

I'm forcing myself to finish this before moving on to other games (plus the small hard drive on the XSX is helping with that).

I just read an article over on Kotaku where the author also complained about this game being too long. It seems weird to me to complain about a game having too much stuff to do. He even mentioned how "he values his time" and I had to stop reading to say out loud "then play something else", lol.

I mean no disrespect but after (3) games in this soft reboot gamers should know what they are getting by now. And the other complaint mentioned was the game has the player doing the same thing over and over again which is true of all games. But you're doing the same things with new weapons/skills and/or armor which should spice things up and if not then the game is not for you, there are plenty of short, bite sized games out there but the AC series not among them.

I don't get the value my time comment at all. How does the value of your time lessen by playing this game for 100 hours, or 5 games for 100 hours?

I'm loving every second of it. Beautiful game. Satisfying combat. Like the Raid system. Wish photo mode was more fleshed out. liking the Mysteries aspect.

This could end up being my favourite AC game.

Kotaku hate everything at this point. I just think you could remove an area or two and still get the same effect. More than a few of these places and story arcs are pretty forgettable. There can always be more side missions for people who want to dig deeper. The main story could be sped up a bit.

This is normal for these games, and most Ubisoft games in general. Far Cry and AC games are still some of my favorites. They just push the length a little too far, considering they release games regularly. I guess I just need to skip every other one or something.

Apparently the author of that article wanted to reach the end of the game to see how it all turned out. But he was bothered by the fact that there was significant content to be played before reaching the conclusion.

I know some gamers prefer shorter games but it just seems silly at this point, the third game in this rebooted series not to know what to expect. But I can understand some who might not have had as good a time as I did and just want to wrap up the story.

I sunk in over 90hrs and had fun from start to finish. If there were more River Raids I'd be all over that. I also ran out of things to chase after getting Thor's armor and the 3 special weapons in the game.

I played all the AC games up through Origins, which I didn't really care for, so I skipped Odyssey. I liked the potential of the Viking setting so I got Valhalla from Gamefly, but I'm finding very little motivation to continue plugging along. I don't really care for the progression structure Origins introduced, I despise this game's skill tree, it sucks big time especially before, when the primary skills were obscured in that pointless fog. I think I'm just sort of over AC now, I don't particularly care for the direction they went with that 'reset'. To me the games no longer make me feel like an Assassin, and they seem to have abandoned the systems I thought made the series unique.

That boggles my mind to. I can only assume going by what you have said that this author wasn't enjoying the game. But, given the hypocritical and contradictary state of game journalism, I imagine he claimed to really enjoy it.

Asyou say, what these games offer should come as no surprise to anybody at this point.

Kotaku just whines about everything now. I used to like how they ditched the review score, but they seem to now lean towards clickbait on everything now.

I barely pay attention to any gaming "journalism" anymore.

They are the Jalopnik of automotive news. As in, not good. Almost satire, but not.

I'm almost 40 hours in and having major troubles finding a reason to continue playing. I don't think I'm very far into the story. There's just less stuff to do in the game compared to the last 2 games. They skipped a year after Odyssey, so what did they do with the extra time? So many features removed and replaced needlessly. Ubisoft does this with all of their games, though.

I tried to like the game, but the game bores me to death. After the first 20hours, I think I seen most of what the game offer. The skill tree is massive but boring. I pulled the plug at about 50 hours mark. I got my money worth so I am not complaining.

I can strangely identify with both sides of the argument. i don't game nearly as much as I used to, so I can understand valuing shorter games that are easy to finish. That said, I still absolutely love knowing there are quality games out there I can play for years and years and still enjoy (Fallout, Skyrim, AC, etc.). I've already sunk a massive amount of time into Valhalla. Haven't played it much in the last two months, but still look forward into putting several dozen more hours into the game to finish it. Loving seeing that Ubisoft are still putting a bunch of support into it too. Sometimes i feel like gamers complain about literally everyhing, even things that benefit them. Grow up, pansies. Valhalla is fun.

People can also criticize a game and still really enjoy it. The game drags at times, but if that's the worst criticism, that's pretty good.

Ubisoft makes some of my favorite games, but sometimes they can just drag at times. Every AC and Farcry game I've played hits that lull that forces you to take a break. It isn't bashing the game, but I think they could be a little shorter and be even better. That's why these games are loaded with side missions, so that people who want more can have it.

Vikki needs to go watch soap operas instead of trying to write sensationalism in the "I'm a girl playing videogames, I'm a minority here, see me, but do not sexualize me" genre.

I'm the first one to rage when publishers gets greedy at the point of it affecting the game, this is not that.
