Official Thread Assassin's Creed Syndicate

I hit one major glitch in a cinema but otherwise it is smooth and plays fine. It has definitely improved over Unity control wise and in a lot of ways it feels like an upgraded return to the highs of Assassin's Creed 2. The characters are likeable and London is a blast. It doesn't feel as overwhelming as Unity did at first, which is also nice. My only gripe is it doesn't have a playable future story as of yet, I miss that from the ones through three.
If you liked past Assassin's creed games I see no reason why you wouldn't enjoy this one. If you have never enjoyed Assassin's creed games this won't sway you but honestly, why would you be in the thread to begin with? For those on the fence that have enjoyed the series in the past I'd say take that leap of faith. :).

Think i might wait till next year to pick this one up, like many others i'm feeling a bit burned out on the series, I enjoyed Unity for what it was and thought it had some great missions but too much goodness coming up in the next couple months to really consider getting this for me.

They should do what Deus Ex is doing and release after the holiday period.

I don't even think day one patches can save this game. The next generation is bugged to hell and back.

So good so far.... there are a couple of things that are odd (like when the smoke stops coming out of chimneys when you reach them and starting again as you move away), but its already way better than Unity and home country capital setting is fantastic..

For me, the Assassin's Creed series has been going downhill ever since AC2: Brotherhood. I had to force myself to finish AC3, and lost all interest in Black Flag after a few naval battles. I know a lot of people loved that aspect of the game, but for me it did nothing.

And Unity....... When I first started playing Unity the first thing I did was start to hunt down all the collectibles. I know, it's this OCD thing I have. That and I don't like seeing the clutter of collectible bullsh!t that's covering the entire map. Thing is, there were so damn many of them that by the time I started doing the actual missions I found myself no longer caring about the character I was playing, his story, or anything else for that matter. I was already fried.

So unless Syndicate is more focused on character and gameplay and LESS on trying to make it video gaming's largest Easter egg hunt, I'll be steering clear of it. Besides, there's too many QUALITY games coming out in the next couple weeks to be bothering with another AC game.

well, Blackflag aside, this is the best Assassins i've played.
I think I agree on the quality. I was so excited for Halo 5 and I was actually glad that it was relatively short so I could get back to this! It is very addicting and the map is no where near as overwhelming as unity (sidequests and chests). So far I'm enjoying the characters and slowly liberating London along the way. Yearly releases do not bother me if the quality remains as high as this.

Guys,

Can I get some guidance on the AC series? I've never played one before. I have Black Flag with GwG it I haven't started it. I noticed AC2 is on sale for $5 right now but it is old and it could be dated. I don't know.

Where should I jump in and start. I can almost watch summaries on YouTube for any games needed for story.

If you still have a last gen system I'd say start with AC2. I'd also recommend trying out AC2 Brotherhood as well. Those 2 are probably the best in the series. However, if you play those 2 you almost have to play Revelations just to finish up the Ezio story.

As for Black Flag, that can essentially be a stand alone. Play that whenever you like. It's really good.

Thanks man. I guess I'll pick up AC2! It's backwards compatible too.

In my opinion AC2 does feel a bit dated, I would recommend starting with Black Flag. It is a little outside the main AC storyline, and in my opinion was the last great AC game. If you like it, then go back and play the Ezio storyline which involves AC2, brotherhood (fantastic game!), and revelations.

Ok Razzel,

I do have a hard time finishing a game if I feel it is dated. I wonder if AC Syndicate is like AC 2? I guess if it is . . . Then I'll have my fill.

Sorry to bump an old thread... But this is easily my favorite AssCreed now.

I really like the banter between the two characters, and the differences between their play styles.

I do miss the skin filters from Unity though. They were amazing. The game definitely looks great once you get to London proper.

Ok, the game looks like ass when its all murky, and gloomy... But London is never sunny with rainbows!? Who are they kidding!

The child labour/templar missions are my fav so far. Hating the shooting missions when on rails. I feel screwed over when I can't play as Jacob for those.

Great game though. Silky smooth compared to Unity. The controls/movement seem more intuitive too.

Hopefully, by the time I finish this one, the next still wont be out for another year. :p

I need to get around to finishing this. I only completed around 20% of the story missions and spent all my time leveling up the characters and getting all of the gang upgrades that it would allow. This game beats the hell out of Unity for sure.
