Asus ROG Ally - New Steamdeck Competitor

You’d be crazy not to get the $700 version over the $600 version. Better processor and double the memory.

I am surprised about the price considering it's Asus. But that's pretty cool for those that don't have a Steam Deck. Now, will Valve hit back by dropping their prices?

Still on the fence. Only game I'd really want to play on it is Diablo IV. My justification is Diablo games only come out every 10+ years so weeeee

I won't be buying anything ASUS in the near future based off of their motherboard fiasco and how they are handling it

Dove right in. Liked the idea of the Steamdeck but this is miles better.

What are your first impressions? Do you miss the touch pads?

Nah, I never really used them anyways. There was a buttload of updates (Windows, My Asus, Armoury Crate) but once those were done I dabbled in some gaming.

This is with the unit plugged in:

-Forza Horizon 5 - 1080, mix of medium, high and Low settings, solid 60fps
-Destiny 2 - 1080, mix of medium and low settings, getting 50-65 fps
-Diablo IV - 1080, FSR 2.0 at quality - get about 60-90fps depending on where I'm at

I tried a bunch more, this is what I wanted the Steamdeck to be. The screen is simply amazing. And it's W11 so it plays everything. I hated fumbling around with trying to get store fronts to work on the deck.
