According to dev.ua, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Oleksandr Borniakov commented on the game's release:
We also call for limiting the distribution of this game in other countries due to its toxicity, potential collection of user data and the possibility of transferring it to third parties in Russia, as well as the potential use of money raised from game purchases to wage war against Ukraine.
Bornyakov also called for all users to ignore the game. He emphasised to the Western audience that the developers have not issued a public statement condemning the Putin regime and the bloody war that Russia has waged against Ukraine.

My issue here is they seemingly offer nothing to show this game will fund the war or that the devs are pro war. Expecting a company to publicly show defiance against the Russian government is a bit unfair considering how we have seen others treated for such an act.

If anybody can show they are pro war or it is funding the war then I won't play it.

U2pop kind of explained it a couple pages back.

Millions of people have have no problems playing Fortnite which is made by Epic games who is 48 percent owned by Chinese company Tencent whom the Chinese Communist Party has stake in and ties to.

Atomic Heart is a fantastic game and it being made by a Russian developer should mean very little.

Unless Mundfish are fans of skydiving off high rise buildings, because that is the trend in Russia, I don't expect them to voice any anti-war opinions.

Just started. Beautiful game, but Holy crap the voice acting is shiiit, lol. I really wish I could play it in Russian with subtitles

Crispy critters! Voice acting is awesome heaps of funny quips.

Played up to the point you can start unlocking skills and upgrading your weapons. Game seems like dumb fun so far. The protagonist doesn’t bother me. Gameplay feels pretty good those robots don’t f’ing play around. Going to play some more this weekend.

This game looks and plays great but does every room you go in have to be a puzzle. The fact that I've made it as far as I have in this game is a miracle.

Lol, can't agree there. At least for the Main Character. His delivery is cringe and poorly acted, imo. I don't think it fits the game and while the bad acting/dialogue does provide it's own amusement, it clashes for me.

He's a bit of a dick, and not in a likable anti-hero way. He is just an ass. It's the kind of character these new writers seem to think is tough and edgy. Too much awkward swearing, abrasive and full of himself. Reminds me of the writing for the character in Forsaken.

It's a shame, as I DO think that if the delivery was better, it would be more palatable, and when I read the messages and notes around the games world it's got an appropriate vibe.

That said, the game is fun and interesting. It's got top tier visuals, and amazing designs.

I DO find it funny how VERY optimistic the view of an unfettered Soviet Union being such a utopia. I'm still waiting to see if some kind of curtain is pulled back and our character finds all the political prisoners and oppression that come with communism hidden under the veneer of technology and caring. He does seem to be some kind of enforcer. The Whole thing feels like Soviet Propaganda, but it's certainly interesting.

Even if it's not the case, it is a fun "what if communism could work the way they wished it did" exercise.

Giving money to china to suppot them threatening half of Asia & invasion of Taiwan is okay though. I don't even go to the money going to war by giving to your US government, & keep voting in war mongers. Presidential candiates against war, don't get "elected".

Summary:

- Powered by Unreal Engine 4
- DF are fond of the games visual make up but say you can spot flaws as well.

- Current gen consoles get IQ and frame rate boost over last gen
- PS5|SX use dynamic 2160p with Unreal TAA. Mostly stays near or at full 4K.
- PS5 and SX are like for like in terms of visual features.

- Series S comes at 1080p with some minor drops but mostly 1080p.
- Series S also cuts foliage density and geometric detail, also no motion blur.

- PS5 seems to run the game at a steady 60 FPS with minor drops
- SX can drop frames and stutters and can drop to high 30s in the intro
- Series S doesn't stutter as much as SX but still prone to drop.
- The day 1 patch on Xbox version causes massive frame time spikes and have other glitches like missing videos on in-game projection screens as well

- PC version doesn't have RT despite it being promised earlier
- Shader compilation offered at launch of the game
- Minor cut-scene drops aside the stutter is far less than most modern games
- General PC specs and comparison with consoles shows higher quality features

- PC supports DLSS2 and FSR 1.0
- DLSS3 frame generation also supported

So from that summary, PS5 wins again? At least with current patches 🤔

So is UE4 still just goated to the point a game like this can be close to 4k all the time and still hit 60fps? Just seems like so many other games that to hit 60 has to take a big resolution drop.

Depends on the game, Returnal was like Native 1080p, TAAU'd up to 1440p, and then checkerboarded to 4K on PS5 and that was a UE4 game.
