Batgirl - $90m Flushed Away(Cancelled)

Why would you want to work with the directors again if they made a movie so bad it can't be released on HBO Max?

Edit: Apparently there is a rumor that HBO Max is getting scrapped so that might explain that.

Wait what?

Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Discovery sucks.

Discovery really does suck. And they're laying off 70% of the staff too. Not sure why they even bought it since it seems like they just want to make most of it disappear.

If you asked me yesterday, if I could only keep one subscription service what would it be, I would've said HBO Max.

Streaming wise, is this the only way to stream HBO content? Originally, I just used Prime and then it was only HBO Max. If they make available through Prime again, then I'll just hang out there.

Well they seem to want big budget movies and cheap TV so based on that Flash is only getting dumped if Ezra Miller is too much of a headache since its big budget
He's been too big of a headache already lol and if Keaton is now out as the standing Batman in the DCEU and they are planning on just starting everything over anyway what's the point of releasing flash? They won't work with Miller again, they are going to release Shazam, Black Adam and Aquaman 2 because they likely have a shot at making decent money and they also want to preserve the relationships they have with the major players in those films. I've seen some rumors today that Aquaman may get moved all the way to December of next year and that Shazam may get moved as well.

Keaton was apparently barely in Batgirl

But there isn't going to be an HBO Max, right?

Well yeah he wasn't the main focus of the movie but the Flash was going to be the way they brought him back, now that doesn't serve much purpose and it's going to be hard to market that movie without people asking a ton of questions about Miller. I haven't really talked to anyone who's even excited to see it to begin with but we'll see what happens.

They definitely seem willing to wait this one out though. Its a bit baffling as even with the much bigger budget you would have understood them cancelling it more than anything else

That tweet is ridiculous lol

Looks like the movie will still be released according to their earnings report, being that nothing from this movie will be followed up on though it just seems like another waste for DC.

90 day fiance universe. Wtf lol. This is the darkest timeline.

And there is a report that just come out that Ezra's traveling about with guns muttering the fbi and kkk are after him.

Yeah but that was clearly a we've got to do this but will have you back when it's time to start GotG3

It kind of cracks me up that we are supposed to be all upset about the people who got paid not seeing their work on the big screen vs the customers having to pay for bad content. If it really was testing in the 60's that's terrible. The tweet you provided wolf has an audio interview with a guy who claims it tested as well as the original directors cut of black adam but that they go the time/money to fix the film. Of course, they did it has the Rock in it (for better or worse) Batgirl doesn't have a major star in the title role. It also sounds like it was a timing thing with them being able to take a tax credit if they shelved it now instead of pouring more money into it.

At the end of the day if WB is saying they only have room for the massive budget movies and that is about it so I am not sure there is anything positive to take from that even if this movie was awful. Its not like they are protecting their customers here.

No they are protecting their IP, if it's that bad and DC has already had a ton of stinkers why add to it and pay more money to do so in the process, at least here they get a tax break for it. I keep seeing all of these people who cover entertainment talking about how tragic it is that these people worked on the film and nobody will see it, well if it's garbage why would you want them to? they got paid for their work and most of those people will get work on other films anyway. I know it wasn't how things usually get done but maybe it should be, if a movie is that bad and you are basically getting rid of the service it was supposed to air on anyway why spend tens of millions more to fix it and then even more money on advertising just to watch it bomb in theaters?
