i have 95 hours on witcher 3 and i still havent finished the main story :| that game is a masterpiece

but i have to play batman
Same here. I'm going to take a break from The Witcher and play Bats for a week or so then go back.

I've been hearing lots of bad things about the stability and performance of the PC version, I can get it for 22 bucks at CDkeys.com, is it worth it?

BTW, the visuals on this game aren't nearly as impressive as they made them out to be before. Looks a smidge better than Origins, when they showed it off prior it looked like a generational leap. What we have here does not.

The more I play this game, the better it gets. Really enjoying it so far...

Any more opinions thus far? I backed out getting it after reading some of the reviews and decided to wait. Not that the reviews were bad, just some of things mentioned bothered me.

I don't have it, but many people are saying it is unplayable on PC. Even if you unlock the fps to not lock at 30 the performance is still horrible. Supposedly they farmed out the development of the PC version to another studio.

The question is if they will fix it or not (or even be able to fix it).

Nahhh it looks incredible the beginning part in the dinner I almost thought was CGI.
Going by the PC version I can't speak on the PS4 yet didn't pick it up yet.

I read the issues and thankfully I am not having them.
Game is a VR hog so people need to make sure they meet the requirements.

They used an external company that made the PC PORT. Hearing a lot of bad thing.

Thank WB, I can save my money, & you not any a cent. Not putting effort to PC, no money.

I'm still a few months away (or longer) from getting this on PC. Sounds like a console copy is the way to go.

Withouth getting too lengthy. Its actually pretty good. Familiar in some ways, but also different in that the Batmobile is a part of your arsenal. It becomes fun traversing around Gotham and fighting tanks etc. You definitely get to feel like your the Dark Knight in this one as well. Gotham is huge! In fact, the whole game kind of feels like a Batman simulation (if that makes sense) Im kind of intrigued by the story as well. So far, I'd give it 8/10. Im only at 6% though, so that could sway one way or the other. If I had to suggest picking it up now based off of what Ive played, I'd say definitely. I cant really see it going down hill from here....

Lots of people experiencing stuttering with even Titan X and 980 Ti, I will pass on this game until they fix it I think.

The game isn't optimized very well.

I can sit around pretty close to 60 fps for a good chunk of the game, but once I'm flying around with my cape I'm around 38-fps. If there is a car on fire and I get near it, it drops down 10fps, even though the fire casts no actual light source and creates no shadows onto my character or anything really. Framerate stays 58-60, even with lots of enemies around me fighting. I haven't gotten in the batmobile yet.

AO is currently not working, High/Ultra resolution textures are missing, lots of graphical settings that people would use to optimize the game further are not in the settings menu and seemingly missing from the INI files (I couldn't find a lot of them). The game only supports one AA mode (called AA), of course you can force whatever. No AF options. Nvidia settings are resource hogs and quite lame IMO. LoD bugs, textures streaming bugs, etc etc. Water/Rain effects on certain surfaces are missing. The main issue here is that a lot of the missing graphical effects are on both console versions.

I am not getting ANY of that heavy stuttering that other users are reporting. For the time being, I'm locking it back down to 30fps until they get those issues sorted, it's a buttery 30fps for me with RivaTuner.

edit: Maybe that framedrop when I'm flying was just a memory leak, I just checked again when I bumped my cap to 75fps and the game bounced back to around 70 after the initial drop to 38 as soon as I started gliding. Weird.

I'd say hold off on the PC purchase until you see some patches. Though G2A does have the game for $22 right now. ;)

Thanks McMasters for the impressions. I'm still wondering if I should purchase now for the Xbox One or wait.

see the bat ears? its not as obvious as it was in game :meh:

So I planned to keep posting updated impressions, but I honestly didn't count on how freaking addicting this game ended up being! I had to tear myself away from the game to go to bed, but wanted to post some thoughts for those still on the fence.

1. As I said, this game is crack. The missions are laid out so well, they all feel unique and important to the story, you never ever have to worry about getting lost or confused, and the upgrade system is perfectly implemented. That leads to the gameplay just flowing so well from one mission to the next, that there never feels like a good stopping point. It's great, and I can imagine a lot of people will be wanting to 100% this game, though I have yet to find out how annoying the riddler challenges are in this game. I've been ignoring them so far.

2. What I posted before about it feeling too familiar, forget I said it. Once you get some upgrades, which happens very early, it plays pretty much how you would expect after watching the videos. The grappling and gliding is much smoother, the combat is very fast paced, you feel like a total badass, and the fear takedowns change the way you approach predator sections. I honestly think that strong/too strong feeling of been there done that in the beginning is intentional to help you appreciate the upgrades.

3. The graphics are very good, and the story is great. I'm not blown away by the graphics so far, but they are definitely impressive and not at all a disappointment. The story is fantastic. Won't talk about it at all, but so far I'm hooked.

4. Lastly, the batmobile. I'll just say I'm surprised and disappointed. I'm surprised that the tank battles aren't as annoying as I expected them to be. It's pretty fun so far. That may be due to me constantly trying out new upgrades, but I'm loving the tank battles. I'm a little disappointed that it's so unwieldy though. It's great when you are tearing through the streets chasing an armored vehicle and causing all sorts of destruction, but there are times when you need precise control and it can be frustrating. Not anything close game ruining, but I've certainly gotten annoyed at times.

Overall, great game so far. It's one of those sequels to me that has enough improvements in the gameplay to make the previous games unplayable, if that makes sense. I'd just miss all the upgrades too much.If I hit a wall with the gameplay or the story takes a dive, I will pass that along, but so far I can easily recommend a purchase to Batman fans.

Yeah I knew this was a must have game when it was announced Rocksteady was doing it.

The intro to this game is awesome. The setup for a deserted Gotham is short and sweet. And I don't understand why reviewers didn't like the Batmobile. The thing is a agile tank that is really fun to drive. It feels powerful not only because of its weapons but because it can smash through just about anything without slowing you down. I'm still at the beginning but so far on the PS4 the game is beautiful without any framrate stutter or hiccups.

I was going to come in and post some impressions but Razzel nailed my thoughts down perfectly. Game is crack.

My only early issues are learning to tame the Batmobile and getting a grip on waypoints/navigation in the multilayered city. I get the feeling early on that I still have so much to see and learn which is a great feeling about this game.

So I rescued the first fire fighter in the side mission and after that when I try to choose that mission there is no waypoint for where the second fire fighter is. Is this on purpose? Does the location of the next firefighter not show up right away and require you to do other stuff to unlock other areas of the map?

Fun game! I like the investigations parts. There are some graphical issues, but otherwise looks great. Stayed up till 2 AM last night on accident playing this!
