Batman Arkham Knight system requirements.

It isn't actually 8GB of unified memory on consoles though. It is split between GPU usage and OS usage. More like 3.5-4 gigs of memory devoted to the GPU.
PC ports that are horribly optimized will suffer not from memory constraints but from poor utilization of GPU power. Using a 'brute force' method is retardation in and of itself causing people with Titan X's and 980ti's to suffer performance problems.

That's a software distiction on the consoles though, isn't it? And I thought the OS was lighter weight than that, like maybe 6GB for games and 2 GB for OS on PS4, and all of it accessible via DDR5 interface. Versus on PC where there are distinctly separate pools of memory. One way to get poor GPU utilization is to starve it of data with too little memory resource.

Somebody on the WB support forum posted a video of him driving around in the batmobile with very little stutter. He has 32GB of RAM and a 980 ti, which I believe is 6GB of VRAM.

Just a thought. I don't usually get games day one so I was all excited to participate in conversation for once. Too bad the conversation is all about technical problems. :(

Well I gave it another shot. It was doing ok( frame rates not withstanding) until the game decided it wanted to crash to desktop in the middle of a mission. So I think I'm done with it until they fix it.

Luckily, I can say I've finally beaten it yesterday.
