'Battlefield: Hardline. Arriving 2015

Just got the invite for PC, DL is @ 47%. Not really excited but I do want to see how it plays.

The M16A3 feels good, that's about the only good thing I can say about this game.

I played one round last night, died by an RPG to my "muscle car" within about 45 seconds. Spawned in the muscle car again, as a passenger though, clicked in on the right thumbstick which put me outside the passenger window with my weapon, and died by the same guy with the same RPG. Then I had to go to the gym, so I powered the game off. No feedback yet.

Battlefield Hardline delayed into 2015
Battlefield Hardline has been delayed into 2015, according to Visceral Games and DICE.

The developers posted an update on the Battlefield Blog as well, stating the delay would “ensure Hardline is the best, most innovative Battlefield experience.”

Here, read this:

Today we are announcing that Battlefield Hardline will launch in early 2015. Obviously, this is big news, so I’d like to address why we’re making this change.

Back at E3, we launched a beta for Hardline — we wanted to not only show you the game, but to let you play it for yourselves. Millions of you jumped in and had a great time. As a result, the Visceral Games team learned a lot from players about what they wanted in the game. We’ve been pouring over the data and feedback, and have already been putting a lot of it right into the game and sharing it directly with you.

This feedback also spurred us to start thinking about other possibilities and ways we could push Hardline innovation further and make the game even better. The more we thought about these ideas, the more we knew we had to get them into the game you will all be playing. However, there was only one problem. We would need more time. Time that we didn’t have if we decided to move forward with launching in just a couple of months.

We decided that the right thing to do was to take more time to ensure Hardline is the best, most innovative Battlefield experience we can give to you, our fans.

Here are a few of the things the new timing will allow us to accomplish:

1. Multiplayer Innovation: Coming out of our E3 beta, internal focus tests, and work with our community, we have received a lot of great Multiplayer thinking. We’re going to be adding some new feature ideas direct from the community that will evolve the cops and criminals fantasy into a truly unique Battlefield Multiplayer experience.

2. Single Player Story Depth: In order to ensure our Single Player experience delivers on player expectations, we’re spending more time polishing our core features, as well as adding a few new ones that will support a deeper “crime revenge” story experience.

3. Stability: This has been a focus for our team since day one and we’re going to be using the extra time to continue to optimize the game for a stable launch. We have learned a lot from Battlefield 4, are continuing to learn from our Community Test Environment and will learn more from another Hardline beta. More time allows us to surface issues that the team can attempt to fix prior to launch.

We are doing all of this for one reason. Because we want Battlefield Hardline to be the best game it can be, and so that we can create the best environment for a smooth launch for our players. We will give you updates on our progress and we’ll regularly share updates along the way via Battlefield.com/Hardline as well as the Battlefield social channels.

In addition to the ongoing development of Hardline, it’s important to note that the DICE teams continue to drive Battlefield 4. We continue to explore new opportunities for improvements and we are still releasing new content, including “Dragon’s Teeth,” the fourth expansion pack that launches worldwide on July 29, and “Final Stand” coming later this year. We remain committed to giving you the best BF4 experience possible.

surprised but good i guess

cue 2015 release where the game is down for 2 months

They sure that's enough? after the bf4 alpha release, it took 5 months to get into beta phase and probably still need another 5 months for the game to be complete.

Good to hear EA is letting the games be finished before release. They're getting close to doing real permanent damage to the franchise if they haven't already.

lol @ DICE delaying BF:HL. Good for them. Too bad they did permanent damage to their reputation with BF4 launch, they can thank their publisher for that. I sure as hell will not be buying Hardline and especially after playing the beta, what a boring game.

Why doesn't EA just say the real reason this was delayed...the preorder sales were super low & they don't want to go against Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare & The Master Chief Collection, both competing first person shooters at the same time. They'd rather ship in March when people might pick it up when they are starting to get bored of those other two titles. Rumor has it that the preorders were way under their expectations.

I would rather have them scrap this title and bring back Medal of Honor. I would still buy this game, but I want agent 45 back. But I agree with Devilsgrin, with the MCC and COD coming, this game doesn't stand a chance.

Not much shocks me in the video game world, but I have to say Hardline's delay is a shocker. You know EA. They always strategically re;ease BF or MoH just weeks before CoD to reap in those eager shooter fans before they splurge on CoD.

But this time, looks like they gave up that strategy that had been going on for years.

However, with so many shooters coming out this fall.... Destiny, Halo, CoD, Evolve, even quirky Sunset O, maybe EA is trying to avoid colliding with so many shooters this time.

I still see it as nothing more than a BF4 mod, the beta didn't do much to change my view on that.
Without even playing the beta or even seeing any videos of the game except for the initial preview trailer, this game has BF all over it. Sure, one difference is replacing Western soldiers and Terrorists with cops and robbers, but the rest of the game looks just like BF.

A cops and robbers game using a look from a military game doesn't make sense. And whose ever heard of crooks using such high tech gear against cops anyway.

If they really wanted to make it about heists, it should be smaller scale battles and lower key gear and getaway vehicles. And more about slower paced strategic burglary than two teams blasting each other like TDM.

Cash grab all the way since they couldn't figure out how to make a good MoH game.

And lastly, not once has a cops and robbers event ever been called a "Battlefield".

New Hard-line Gameplay Trailer

Very cool trailer.

Shame the game does nothing for me. The BF franchise has lost its way for me. BF3, BF4, and Now HL, all feel like poor reincarnations of a franchise that was once an epic bar setter for the FPS genre. A series that alone made me keep a desktop PC for years just to play the next instalment. A series that sucked up more time with one game than my top 5 most played games since.

RIP Battlefield...RIP.

The game looks interesting and a nice change from military shooters but its FPS overload for me. But honestly from a COD guy who only started playing BF since BF4 - even with its glitches on release this is a far far better military shooter than COD period. I'm a convert and can't wait for BF5 in 2016.

Looks like a 29.99 expansion to BF4 if this were early to mid 2000's. I'll pass.

Never said they weren't. All I said is the games today are a far cry from the greatness they used to be. In all honesty, I think BF3 & BF4 are simply trash. Terrible maps, stupid unlock progression, mixed classes, poor balancing, and a terrible battlelog/server integration.

Did you play any of the expansion maps for BF3 and BF4, a couple were pretty standout for me and kept me coming back, otherwise meh haven't touched the games in a long time, too many other good games to play.

nahh BF4 is a great shooter and things will never go back to the way they was when the series wasn't as popular.

Why not just wait a month or two until it becomes a 29.99 dollar game? I see no harm in releasing games no one wants for 60 dollars. This industry is too competitive.

It's a AAA Battlefield game, It'll take more than a month or two.
