Official Thread Call of Duty: Black Ops III

Wake me when someone does WW2 again. We had a couple WW2 games and people got burned out, now we get tons and tons of modern/future games with zero variety. WW2 games were never played out anywhere near this badly.

A couple....the FPS genre was infested by them. Even the COD franchise started with 3 WW2 games. However, misremembered past to the side, I agree we do need a change. We went from one extreme to the other. We need a balance of old, modern, and future.

8-4 in the COD series, plus throw in BF. The original COD games were all 1st gen as I remember so I kind of left them off. I think MoH was the only other one. People seemed to love WaW, then nothing.

Rofl, COD deviates from copy-paste for one game (AW), and people already want them to go back, lol.

Like I have said many times, I seriously think Activision purposely takes away things people like and adds more of what they do not.

AW is still copy & paste. Only now you have huge bunny-hopping idiots and an upgraded speed which is too fast for the claustrophobic maps.

lol, good to know skipping out on yet another COD was warranted.

Honestly, COD would benefit far less from a trip back to WW2 than Battlefield would. I think BF with the fantastic improvement of their infantry feel and mechanics since BF 2 would be awesome. I have a bit of a bias toward BF though. ;)

The single player is very good. Which was a nice change as I hadn't enjoyed a COD SP since MW2.

I would love battlefield to go back to WW2. Battlefield 1944 with all the destruction would be awesome.

the change has to be good

if it doesnt work (like exo suits) then dont keep it

Exo-suits are not really the issue. IMO it is the map design that is the bigger issue. Not just in AW but in the last 3(not including Ghost, I never played it) games too

i dont disagree

i dont know what you dont like about them but for me i am sick of going somewhere and feeling like i can get shot from 360 degrees.. no point checking corners anymore and moving slow and tactically.. its just run around and hope you see the enemy before they see you. and then it just becomes ALL about the UAV and trying to stay off it

That is exactly why I do not like them, at least for Blops 2 and MW3. For AW it is that and the maps are too small.

I never played Ghosts.
It was alright except its progression system. It rewarded you with coins to spend on whatever you wanted. Good in theory but not in execution because the appeal of Call of Duty is leveling up your soldier and weapons to work toward next weapon or attachment. Ghost let you unlock anything you wanted whenever you wanted granted you had enough coins.

Can't wait for Black Ops 3. The pinnacle of first person shooters is here. It doesn't matter what they do. I prefer it was modern times but if it's futuristic oh well. Treyarch always delivers.

as long as they bring back there stellar map design like they did in black ops 1 and black ops 2 I will be happy. Loved the pacing of the maps. As you can see below they fit my play style perfect.

Am I the only one who hates these progression systems? I just want everything available to me from the get go. I hate having to play for 12 hours just to get a gun I want.

The progression system is what made the series popular in the first place.

I'd honestly be happy if they just re-made any of the following CoDs with next gen visuals and all the maps they released:

CoD4
WaW

That's it. Those 2 games would make me happy.

I say fill it with jet packs, Terminators, Robocop guns, conspiracy theories, flashbacks, flash-bangs, lasers and cyborg attack dogs.
