Call of Duty: Modern Warfare/Warzone - shutting down September

I've been trying to use the Striker 45 lately and I can't tell if it is any good or not. Supposedly it got a stealth buff in the last patch but it seems inconsistent.

There is a magazine option early on that gives you a 2 round burst hollowpoint option which is interesting. At the right range you can basically one burst people. At least on console though it seems you're just better spraying and praying with an MP5 or an Aug.

The SBMM still brings this game down for me though. Spent some time playing other games and it is so fun to have more variety. I jumped into the Rust/Shipment/Shoot House playlist and got put up against a 4 man group all with gold gun Kar98s. These guys were just straight up nasty and I have no business being thrown in these lobbies. There wasn't even anything fishy going on, they were just legit good as far as I could tell.

It makes running around and being aggressive really hard when I'm getting insta-killed when I pop out.

I'm gunna start working on Stryker this week.

Apparently the 12 round mag makes it a 2 bullet to kill.

Does co-op count towards battle pass? I could have swore doing one I leveled up, but then another one I did it didn't look like it moved at all.

Ok! So the 12 R 45 mag isn't great. If you can hit headshots it is a 2 BTK, but only 12 rounds on 2 bullet burst makes zero sense for what it offers. Better off with the 45 round mag IMo.

The new Stryker 45 is actually decent. Really enjoyed using and still have plenty of mods to unlock.

Okay either SBMM is back with a vengeance or I f***ing suck.

Has to be the former.

People are learning to manipulate the system a lot more now, especially in the 6v6 and 10v10 playlists.

Also the big problem is the system swings less dramatically, so when you are in fun lobbies it lasts longer, but then when you get bumped into gold gun god tier lobbies, that lasts longer too. I'm getting matched every game with players with gold marksman rifles who are just instant headshot machines.

There's really nothing to do but play through these bad lobbies until the system takes pity on you and bumps you back down.

The problem is this system isn't even SBMM. It is more like EA Sports comeback logic. If you have a few good games, it doesn't "match your skill", instead it puts you up against players you have no chance at competing with. It is like in Fifa or NHL when you get up by 2 goals and suddenly the other team goes into berserk mode. The better you get, the harder it gets.

I jumped into Star Wars BF2 which doesn't have any SBMM and I was often one of the top players on a 40 man server a lot. I know there's an influx of noobs in that game now, but there's still a lot of higher level players who are good. I'm actually playing really well in other games lately, but in COD I just get worse.

That is called Dynamic Difficulty in FIFa, something EA flatout denies is in the game. LOL!

That good ol' NBA Jam comeback at anytime system.

It is basically the non-racing game version of rubberbanding.
I remember "rubber banding", but not really, in Midtown Madness. There was a capture mode, and I got the object, and I was able to get on the outside track of one city map, and keep the gas pedal down, and timed it perfectly that nobody could catch me. Nobody could navigate the city fast enough to get to me. It was one of my greatest moments on video games.

Then it is weak RB at best.

I remember in the first GRID being nearly a full lap in the lead but in just 3 or so corners I was being overtaken.

We proved the comeback logic in NHL, even in online games. My friends and I did an online league and we regularly played each other. We're all about the same skill level so it worked great.

We noticed right away that almost every game had an amazing, last minute comeback. At first it was fun because we felt like this was normal for evenly matched players to have close games, but suddenly the pattern was obvious. Our goalies would simply let an easy one in for the team that was up almost every single time.
It became the running joke in the game. We all knew each other personally and nobody was doing anything unusual. The team that had a lead with a couple of minutes left in the game would get "the tilt" against them.

FIFA is alot worse by the sound. The ball will literally go though players . I've had it go throughthe goal keeepers hands and head. Then add in the bulls*** injury time goals, playiers feeling like they are bogged down, button inputs suddenly taking a week to happen.

In Career mode it isn't too bad, but online is terrible.

I saw Fifa 20 on sale this weekend for cheap and thought about it, but then realized it would just make me rage. I'm done with those games.

I couldn't stand the dreaded "Fifa stutter" when your player suddenly turns into a clumsy fool who can't do anything.

In NHL, the AI can actually steal the puck away when completely behind you even with stick handling well out in front of you. Anyone who plays knows this is impossible unless someone has a monster reach.

Game companies need to realize that this scripted nonsense isn't fun. When the outcome is pre-determined, why play? This goes for COD SBMM too (to get back on topic) :)

I'm done with FIfA as well. It just gets worse and worse.

SBMM is fine. Strict SBMM is fine. But only in moderation. Adding SBMM to lobbies, like mW has and like Apex Legends did, isn't good. It should be reserved for competitive modes, like ranked, or the new Gunfight tournements.

Played a bit last night. Been a while since I played and it seemed ok. Still some super sketch stuff like shoot a person and get 3-4 hit markers just for them to snap turn on me and kill me in 1-2. Probably just the s*** netcode but still annoying. I did try gun game and finished 3rd which was surprising.

I been reading about Warzone changes due to a beta event feedback.

Apparently there are no meds. Instead we get auto regen health.._yuck!
Only 2 killerble kill streaks, cluster bomb and air strike.
Gunshots will show on radar and compass.
The gas cloud(Zone) is very deadly.
No multiple level armour.
Everything is tied to your MW account.Battle pass level, rank, weapon rank, etc, will be what ever you have when the mode releases.

IMO the first and last thing are not good. Everything else seems decent.

I'm very on board with health regen. I hate having to monitor my health in Battle Royale games, just once less thing to worry about.

Health regenerating is probably to pull in the casuals. I prefer health packs.

I’m fine with soldier (rank, BP) tied to all modes.

I like same armor for everyone.

No multiple level armor sounds like a big plus. People were walking tanks in the last game with level 3 armor.

Health regen could be ok, but they need to be careful that gunfights can't go on forever at range. Black Ops BR was always more action oriented anyway so it might not be a big deal. COD never plays like PUBG. Although I assume they will greatly increase the time to kill, so I wouldn't want fights going on and on, especially on console where the aim isn't as good at range.

I assume we'll still pick up weapons and attachments off the ground? I assume they mean that there's no separate leveling system.

Correct sounds like leveling up your guns and unlocking cameos is the same across MP and Warzone.

Monitoring your health is a big part of what makes a BR a BR.Auto regen will draw fights out really bad, especially in squads.

The way armour seems to work is you have an armour bar with 3 segments, those segments represent armour plates. I assume these armour plates have to be looted and likely replacable, similar to BF5's BR.

You start with 150 health and each armour plate/segment is 50HP,which means 300HP max. The current MW HP is 100, right? Making the TTK roughly 3 times longer..._which seems excessive.

Yeah that does seem like too much. Especially on console where people can't get headshots at range nearly as easily. The guns without attachments have quite a bit of recoil too, so I could definitely see gunfights going on too long.

Maybe Warzone will have seperate weapon balancing. I mean M4 or MP5 is already a 4 BTK to the body.having a 12BTK would be ridiculous. So its own balancing would be needed if those HP are correct.

My current stryker 45 set up is working nicely. Tactical surpressor, 400mm Stainless steel barrel, conen mini reflex sight, commando forgrip, Ftac 5-G (the second one) or something back grip.

Only things that might change are the suppressor, if the stryker has a Monolithic version, and the sight might get changed for the 45 round mag.
