In fact for a bonus, include some popular Resident Evil characters like Lady Dimitriscu or Heisenberg as fighters.
I think start development now to roll out about the time Street Fighter sales have slowed down.
I also think there is a market for these kinds of monster characters in other entertainment. Universal keeps trying with their classic monster IPs. Marvel pokes at it with Morbius or Blade.
I'm not sure Darkstalkers could really translate to the big screen, but if a reboot is popular, I bet the anime division of Netflix would seriouosly look at it.
