Cliff Bleszinski "coming out of retirement", promises announcement this week

Former Epic Games developer and Gears of War designer Cliff Bleszinski is "coming out of retirement" with an announcement this week.
The developer made the announcement via Twitter on Monday, declaring plans to reveal his latest activities in the days to follow.

"I'm officially coming out of retirement to make video games again," said the designer. "Stay tuned here for details in the next 7 days," he said.
Bleszinski held off revealing any further details, but he did go on to say, "It's going to be a blast to finally tell the story of what brought me back."
 
so much wow. What's next? An entire game based on a knife-laser-gun-shield?


Actually scratch that, I'm patenting this genius idea!
 
Last time I remember Cliffy he was promoting that vaopurware game Fartnite. Yeah, pun intended!

That would be great, but IIRC he said last year that he plans to make a new PC only FPS that will, an I quote "Harken back to the arena FPS we all cut our teeth on."

But with the news more recently of a new Unreal Tournament perhaps he is going to help with that. Although the game is supposed to be "designed by the community" it wouldn't hurt to have Cliff working on it as it would almost guarantee an amazing FPS experience.
 
he should really go back to epic, they both seem to be floundering without each other.
 
We are talking about a man who produced Jazz Jack Rabbit, Gears of War and Shadow Complex, all three very different kind of good games. The least I would say about Cliff B is versatile.
 
On a side note. I bet Gaf is happy about this!

I thought I remembered hearing he was starting up his own thing but I also thought that'd been going for the last year, not just him being on vacay...
 
an outside chance that maybe he's gone to Black Tusk to work with Rod on the new Gears.

What brought him back? Probably needed freakin' money. lol. My friend was a huge Gears/Bleszinski fan, I'm sure he's jerking off to this news!
 
That tweet he said about gaf is going to come back and bite him on the arse.
Anyway I wish him the best of luck, Gears was a brilliant game for its time.
 
I'll get excited once I hear more about the "game".
