Companies And People being Terrible - Job Layoffs, Down Playing Employees

I was just reading about this and The Board's defense of B. Kotick. Its a weak defense which they basically say B. Kotick wasn't in the loop and didn't get the memo concerning all the inappropriate workplace allegations. The Board is now looking to increase reporting to management so as now to keep Kotick more informed about what exactly is going on in the company he's CEO of. It sounds like BS to me and if he's that clueless he doesn't deserve to be Captain of that ship. But investors have done well under Kotick so I doubt he's going anywhere.

Sony Group Corp.’s PlayStation chief Jim Ryan criticized Activision Blizzard Inc. Wednesday for the game publisher’s inadequate response to an explosive news article alleging that Chief Executive Officer Bobby Kotick was aware of sexual misconduct and harassment allegations for years and that he had also mistreated women.

In an email to employees reviewed by Bloomberg, Ryan linked to the Wall Street Journal’s Tuesday report. He wrote that he and his leadership were “disheartened and frankly stunned to read” that Activision “has not done enough to address a deep-seated culture of discrimination and harassment.”

Microsoft Corp.'s head of Xbox said he's "evaluating all aspects of our relationship with Activision Blizzard and making ongoing proactive adjustments," in light of the recent revelations at the video game publisher.

In an email to staff seen by Bloomberg News, Phil Spencer said he and the gaming leadership team are "disturbed and deeply troubled by the horrific events and actions" at Activision Blizzard Inc.

"This type of behavior has no place in our industry," Spencer wrote. He joins a swell of outcry from employees to investors and shareholders in demanding a stronger response from the U.S.'s second-biggest gaming publisher. On Wednesday, Sony Group Corp.'s PlayStation Chief Jim Ryan sent a similar note to staff, writing that he and his leadership were "disheartened and frankly stunned to read" that Activision "has not done enough to address a deep-seated culture of discrimination and harassment."

Bobby Kotick has reportedly said he would consider resigning from his role as CEO of Activision Blizzard if he cannot fix the many issues within the company's culture quickly.

That's according to sources speaking to the Wall Street Journal, who told the publication that Kotick held a meeting with the Call of Duty publisher's top executives on Friday to address the latest problems they face.

While he did not say he would definitely step down, he said it was a possibility if the company's issues with abuse and misconduct were not fixed "with speed."

During the meeting, execs reportedly told Kotick that some staff would not be satisfied until his resigned.

Kotick said apologised for how he has handled the situation and added he was ashamed of some of the incidents that have happened during his 30-year tenure as CEO.

He had his chance. There should be no other option. Bye.

He helped cause the issues so should just be a piss off and goodbye

Good, now they can go and do what they're made to do instead.

We can't leave companies out now!

Maybe time to change the thread title.

Geoff seems like the embodiment of angst. He's losing everything and everyone and he's not really good at anything else. It's the apocalypse for him.

They all seem to balance eachother out perfectly.
