Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin screenshots and new info

One hilariously awesome thing about the "pool of blood"(name changed from bloodstain) in this is that sometimes I will click one and it shows me 3-5 different players deaths at once. Pretty awesome. It's like From got the netcode down so well in this one that they are showing off, lol.

Anyone play this on the Xbox One yet? Are the frame rate dips distracting at all. I'm thinking about picking it up today but the unstable frame rate has got me kinda wanting to wait till a price drop.

I haven't noticed the drops at all yet.

It's crashed on me two or three times. Haven't noticed anything with the framerate and I've had three phantoms summoned and fighting with me.

For those who have played Bloodborne, how similar are these two games?

Looks like D-V-ANT helped answer that for me.

Well i bought me a copy of Dark Souls SotfS on Xbox One. Installing as we speak....well....wish me luck eh. ;)

I remember i had a copy for the 360 last year, it was for reviewing purposes but i gave it to another guy to review on our site, cause well....i just had not given it a chance. But then Dark Souls I became a Game with Gold. I decided to give it a shot and stick with it and i did just that and became addicted. I could not pass on this one.

Mine hasn't crashed luckily. That wouldn't be fun with thus game especially.

Other then the combat the biggest difference for me is in Bloodbourne I hardly felt lost. The environment would gently guide you, where as in this I have felt lost going the wrong way numerous times. The game is still fun though, I am about four bosses in and loving it.
Also, the graphics, you'll miss those Bloodborne graphics!

Luckily it hasn't happened during a boss fight. I think may have something to do with resume from stand by.

Sorcerer is a bad ass for DPS and ranged attack but your every much a glass cannon at the start of the game.

That's the cleric , right? This might be a game that i play for an hour first and then restart it to try another class. Right now i got my eyes on the Swordsman, dual swords looks awesome.

No cleric is different class. Starts off more healing but gets bad ass lightening spears as you level up. Sorcerer is a full in magic user with primarily offensive magic. You also have a pyromancer so uses fire magic.
Swordsman is always good but be warned that it will take a lot of practice, especially if you want to dual weild.

How is it?
I haven't bit yet..
A guy I work with started it last night...said it looks BEE YEW TEA FULL compared to the previous generation. Also said that they have put enemies in different places than before. Said he loves it. Then again, he has like 250 hours in the game before, and couldn't stop playing it.

Is it just me or do weapons degrade MUCH faster than in the first Dark Souls and probably Dark Souls II too? My Scimitar is already at risk now.

Oh lordy lord. Guess i'm gonna have to keep every sword i find, just in case. I asssume the only way to repair it is at a blacksmith? Haven't seen one yet.

Ok so i read this on Gamersyde's chat, this s*** true?

In the PC version of DS2, weapon degradation is tied to framerate. So the higher the framerate, the faster the weapon degrades. The PS4 and XBO versions run at 60fps with the same bug

I really don't know if I should revisit this after 150 hours in the first version or go with Xenoblade Chronicles. Someone help me.

Gravy,

Can someone ever really get too much? Ha ha. I don't know personally but I have read they did mix up enemy placement. But maybe you need a break?

I never played the DLC so I got that going for me.

But being able to enjoy a whole new adventure in the comfort of my bed with Xenoblade sounds exciting too. But it's a whole new IP for me so I MIGHT not like it despite rave reviews. Happened with Majora's Mask.

I'm at a loss.

I played Dark Souls for over 200 hours including the DLC and really enjoyed it. I own DS2 for the 360 but have yet to start it after owning the game for almost a year. Now I may just skip it and play it on the new consoles. 150 hours on the the vanilla game means you must have really liked it.

Truck yeah I enjoyed. And I've decided to get it. I'm ready to blasphemy over and over again.

Wow I am seriously liking this game. Not quite Bloodborne levels but seriously great!

Already at level 100. Man, the sorceror is just a bad ass. Finding it a much easier a class than the knight or theif

Well, the weapons degrade faster at 60fps. That explains why pc gamers were complaining about weapons breaking and consolers were wondering why.

Also, as I mentioned in my lengthy complaint one or two pages back, it depends on how long the weapon "touches" an enemy. A two-handed power attack with a great club will kill the weapon in a few hits. It is also affected by friendly phantoms in co-op. I learned to love the rings that increased weapon durability.

Oh, and weapons repair themselves at bonfires automatically....if you make it that far without it breaking.

(note that I have only played the original pc version of Dark Souls II)
