Day One Plans?

Hitting refresh on the site of whatever carrier the Canadian Microsoft store uses.
 
thankfully i work half day Friday's so i should get a few hours of use out of it before wor lass commandeers the TV for her soap's.

i hope there are a few arcade/indie style puzzle games to download and try before i boot up Forza to show the world just how bad a Drivatar can be :-)

Already off from work, so I just plan on playing Dead Rising 3 all day.
 
I was thinking about taking the day off. I want to be there when Amazon brings it to my house. I want to smell the new contents inside the box. Then I want to hook it up. Then I want to go through every single menu item, every option. I want to get the snap feature figured out and perfected. I am hoping to setup the HDMI out with my DirecTV box ASAP that day too, if supported.

I think I read somewhere that Dish Network and Directv won't work with the tv features on X1.

Well then, the HDMI out will be pretty much a useless feature for me...unless I can use it with my PS4.

On the 21st I'm on a all day session in Swansea (UK) so will miss the midnight launch so picking it up post hangover on the Friday (off all day) :)
 
XB1 is shipping to my work address. I'll probably work until it arrives. Then I have the next 9 days off of work. I'm sure I'll find time to play some games in there somewhere.
 
First, make up excuses to my gf like "I'm out of town for a few days"

Of course download Killer Instinct and hop online immediately then play some Watchdogs or Assassins Creed After playing games mess around and see all the cool s*** I can do. The next day invite friends and family so I can whoop their azzx in Killer Instinct.

I'll be heading to midnight launch at GAME (UK) hopefully with everything paid off so I can use the express line (if they even do this).

Followed by going home kicking off the FIFA 14 digital download and exploring the dash and kicking off with DR3.

I have the Friday and Monday off work and don't work weekends so I'll be hammering it!

I'm also planning a FIFA night on the Friday with a few of my friends (we have them every 4-6 weeks); to launch us into the next gen era :bang:

I don't think Sky in the UK is supported at launch, but I'm gonna plugin my sat box through HDMI anyway. At least it will be single input and maybe I can use the Kinect IR blaster to change channels.
 
So they are doing midnight releases this time? No one did for the 360 launch, had to stand out in the freezing cold all night until the store opened at 8am!

When i did that circuit cities were still around.
 
My GF and I have taken off the day. I have it arriving on launch day, but since it is coming from Amazon it could get here anytime between 10am and 7pm.

However I will be at GameStop to pick up my games at midnight.
 
Amazon will be delivering it Friday, so I'll have it after work.

Dilemma though: On that Saturday I have this alumni track thing at my college. It's basically an alumni track meet where all the old athletes can come and compete. It's fun and there will be a lot of people there I'd like to see but the timing is just terrible! What do I do?!
 
1) pick up my console
2) hide the receipt from the wife
3) tell her that the new console is in fact the old console (if she asks)
4) play until the internet connection breaks
5) sleep on the couch


Good day 1 for me.

Day off, hook up the two X1's, set them up, spend hundreds on games, get very little sleep over weekend and probably ignore kids.
