Halo don't have ads or double jumps plus the bullet damage is much better in Destiny.
This game is better is better in everyway SO FAR.
To me it feels like a mix of a bunch of games. Borderlands 2, Star Wars, Diablo III, Warframe, Killzone and Halo.
Halo was in the list I gaveWell those things are enough to mean the movement isn't very similar to halo 4. Its very similar to me.

That is what I was thinking as well. I started up the game this morning, and I was just waiting for Cortana to appear too!
So far, it's Halo meets Borderlands. I am loving the very little I have played so far. So is the game just solo if you don't invite others to the game? I just launched and started following the waypoints, and fighting. Nobody was with me.
Based on our experience with the Destiny alpha on PS4, it feels as though the studio has reached its goal, delivering the no-compromise experience we've been waiting for.
On PS4, the jump to full 1080p resolution makes a massive difference.
Performance wise, Destiny delivers a stable 30fps regardless of on-screen action, interrupted only by issues with frame-pacing.
What we can say for now is simply that Destiny is shaping up to be a classic shooter. Despite sharing similarities with games such as Borderlands and of course the studio's own Halo titles, Bungie's attention to detail and incredibly polished combat results in something decidedly special. Few developers manage to pull off world-building quite like Bungie and it's fantastic to see the technology fully pulling its weight in delivering a unique vision. When September finally arrives you can be certain that Digital Foundry will finally put all four versions to the test - and of course, we'll be checking out the beta code next month with much interest.

Guys, remember you can change your weapons, armor, suits, boots etc. as you loot them. I found out at the end of my game session last night, haha.
What's everyone's thoughts on the competitive multiplayer?
I played it this morning and it felt like Halo, but the vehicles/gunplay felt like they lacked some of the fun/oomph that Halo's multiplayer has. The announcer is also annoying.
I also felt that the multiplayer is a better fit for more arena style play (power weapons placed throughout).
How do you do that? I didn't seem able to.
Also, is it just me or do some players have shields, while others don't?
You probably suck. Remember, you and I both sucked at Killzone 4, so we must suck!My shield sucks it seems like one hit its gone. Not sure that is how the game is or I just suck.

I gave my impressions a page or 2 ago.
I think its significantly better then Halo.
I'll be on around 8:30PM CT if anyone else is going to be around. Wouldn't mind giving a mission or two a try.
Has anyone else taken on the Death Walker yet? If you haven't done the Devils' Lair mission be prepared for a tough but fun mission. I've done some side missions and they are fun but short. Strike missions are where its at though. My Warlok is at lvl6 now and I've found a sniper rifle that does flame damage, awesome sauce. I tried a little PVP and its fun but predictable, I'll be investing in Destiny for its massive amount of single/co-op content.
