Destiny beta coming to Xbox One & Xbox 360 in late July

So..I can only try the game out if I pre-order it?
*Sigh

It looks like I won't be able to try this game out...and I won't buy it until I have.

I'm not going to participate in the beta because Bungie has betrayed me and that's the way I speak my hate.
 
Already bought the game and got my beta code. Late July is gonna be heaven for me!! Though Evolve is knocking at my door also.

You could just preorder it on Amazon or something and then cancel after you get the code. That's what I'm going to do if I decide I don't like the game.

Yeah just pre-order and cancel it if you don't like it. At least that way you'll get a hands on impression.

Same here, not into MP games but I really want to check this out.
 
Like someone else said it takes like 5 mins to preorder it from amazon, you get the code immediately, then just cancel. It's easy.
 
What bugs me about Bungie is the lack of communication regarding X1. Not the fact that it comes to PS4 earlier that's just business which was probably agreed between Sony and Activision but only yesterday I was on Bungie.net and there is a statement from Bungie that says " Destiny Beta begins 17th July, mark your calenders"

No mention whatsoever that it will be coming later to X1, I took from that statement that we'll all be getting the Beta come July 17th.
If it's coming later in the month on X1 say so. As a member of the Bungie.net community for 8 years it's just astounding that they won't even reference the X1/360 even on there own website to its dedicated fanbase. Exclusive alphas and early Betas is one thing but to not even acknowledge the Xbox community or say that it will be coming at a later stage on Xbox is just staggering especially since Bungie fostered such a close relationship with the Xbox community in the past decade.

Order it off Amazon you'll get the beta code in about an hour or right away cancel your pre-order. its what I did.

Its a business and a deal was was made with Sony. you're ass wants to stay in business you got to make deals.

I pre-ordered from BestBuy but I never got a beta code.
 
Wow. Look at that. With the money Sony and Activision having been sharing, you'd think Destiny was a PS4 exclusive with no last gen, X1 or PC game in sight. lol

Same thing happens with Watch Dogs, COD, GTA, Battlefield, Titanfall, Assassins Creed, etc. and we don't know how much money changed hands.

It's unfortunate, but Microsoft, Sony, Activision, EA, Ubisoft, 2k, etc all partake in this nonsense. It just so happens that Destiny happens to be a Bungie game and probably one of the most, if not the most, anticipated games of the year, so people are now having their feelings hurt.

It's unfortunate that Sony outbid Microsoft on this game, but I guess with all the money Microsoft is spending on exclusive COD advertising and MP maps (which I don't give a **** about), this was bound to happen.

That is kind of dickish.....isnt it? Not one mention of the X1 version at all.
 
Figures, Bungie have been a bit of an ass with this whole Destiny. They pretty quick to for get whole put them on top and now these XBOX people are left in the cold.

I still happy they didnt keep Halo

I think I'm going to preorder through Amazon, then cancel. I really don't think this game is for me, but I'm not one to shy away from a beta.
 
The entire idea of a timed exclusive "beta", it has to be one of the dumbest things I've heard of in gaming outside of pre-order DLC, but even then at least that makes sense for retailers. I'm curious as to how this is supposed to be beneficial to anyone.

It would be interesting to know how much money is agreed upon. I'm surprised nobody has leaked financial agreements of all these deals.

MS has CoD, Sony has Destiny. One thing's for sure, Activision sure knows how to hype games and make cash. I think they are the only game maker (excluding obscure MMO/smartphone companies) that are consistent huge profit makers. They always seem to have have a few key hits that rake in the cash. Blizzard, the whole Guitar Hero phase, CoD, Tony Hawk years back, now Destiny is going to be one of them.

Love em or hate em, they do make some quality games. Problem is once they hit pay dirt they milk it to the last molecule of profit is squeezed out of the franchise. Then they'll move onto another one.
