The game's amaze balls. Tbe matchmaking idea is neat but it feels unbalanced as hell.

It is nowhere to be found on the dashboard or when I search for it.
Odd. I downloaded it Friday night without a code.
I found it to be the perfect balance. Any slower and it would give the victim the advantage which isn't how it should be. ESP with special weapons like the shotgun and sniper that can kill with one shot, heavy weapons, and supers that are way too overpowered! I'd just run around with the sniper killing everything!Bungie is using the same gameplay formula in Destiny that they used in Halo. Jump, grenade, melee, special power, and weapon fire. I don't know how the full game will be in the Crucible, but it seems like you instantly die the second you make contact. At least in Halo you are usually able to return fire before you die.
Although the information is almost certain to change before launch, at present data found in the beta client indicates the full release will have 32 story missions and 23 strikes (co-op raids).
The data also revealed a number of other activities, with the grand total coming in at 148 in total.
The owner of Destiny DB got in touch to help clarify this information:
“There are 23 known story missions, 8 unknown and 1 mission are the credits. For the strike there are 5 nightfall missions, 6 normal missions, 4 vanguard missions and the rest are duplicate. I have a feeling that the nightfall missions are the regular missions during the night although I can’t confirm this at all,” he wrote.
What does seem clear is that there’s quite a lot of content in the build from which the beta client was spun, and that’s probably going to increase for the final game – and that’s before Bungie’s promised expansions.
What won’t be in the finished game is more Earth content, apparently. In a Twitch-archived multiplayer session with 2old2play, Bungie community manager David Dague (Deej) confirmed each planet (or moon, or whatever; Bungie calls them “destinations”, which is cute) would have only one “Explore” mission – the free-roaming option.
That suggests there won’t be any extra environments to experience on Earth outside the Cosmodrome. Dague explained that Bungie had to start the game on the Cosmodrome because it’s where humanity’s golden age began, as everyone rushed to reach space.
Dague went on to say that Bungie has revealed every destination for the final build – so Earth, the Moon, Venus and Mars – but hinted that expansions will take humanity outside the solar system once more.
Amen to that, I gotta a couple of Legendary Purple items that I would love to apply to a future Titan!!Moon mission was nice. Glad they opened that up to us. Too short, but you just got to take what you get when it's a beta.
I'm done playing it now as well. Looking forward to the 9th though. Kind of hoping if they don't let us keep our levels they at least let us keep the gear we've collected and we'll just have to level up to use it.
23 strikes? Very nice. How many missions does Destiny have?

23 strikes? Very nice.
I figure that's easily 15+ hours of gameplay just with that. Even more if you play on a harder difficulty. So just in strikes and story mission, you're looking at a 30+ hour game right there. That's nit counting, raids, free timing mission and the crucible. Looks to be plenty of content even if those open area missions aren't to diverse, although I hope they are more diverse in the fun game.
My problem isn't length, but it getting stale and breaking the Suspension of Disbelief. The way the Baddies constantly spawn is annoying (necessary, I know, because you aren't the only one running around the world), and keeps me from being sucked into the world. Encounters can be fun, but Enemies will spawn right behind me if I don't leave the area quick enough, or worse, in the middle of a long fight. There is no map control. They also always spawn in the same places. Couple that with a lack of dynamism/ interactivity in the environments, and I can see it getting stale.
That's a guess though. I still had a good bit of fun, and for a longer time than I expected with the Beta. Great controls and a decent combat flow will do that. I also love the art direction. I do find it concerning that Old Russia is the only location on earth.

The fact that they only have Russia on earth does stink. The more I think about it though, it does seem unlikely that they would have 23 strikes. That would mean about 6 strikes per area. (Earth, Moon, Venus and Mars). That seems like a lot.My problem isn't length, but it getting stale and breaking the Suspension of Disbelief. I was thinking it would be nice to spontaneously encounter enemy parties as they are traveling through an area, like a scout party. They'll continually move through until combat. I was thinking something along the lines of Fallout. It would just be a random act. Not sure if the map is big enough for that.
Granted we weren't shown everything. They could just be spawning default enemies every few minutes (seconds it seems) just to give us something to do.
It might even be cool to see other parties instead of enemies. Sort of like Fallout again. Humans, some are friendly and would trade or you could assist; and others that are bandits. Those things would flesh out the world a bit.
The other thing I think might be cool is races. I'm not big into GTA type races, but racing ala Star Wars Pod racing. You can challenge peeps or drive up to an area. I really enjoy the sparrows and incorporating them into a race of some sort would be cool.
