Destiny loot system

Another way I found that I like better is to free his chains and then jump over the rock ledge at the far left of the map, there is a little spot to hide in, he will come over that way and shoot at you but he can't hurt you, you just pop up and shoot him then hide. It is easier when you are alone because he will be chasing other players otherwise unless everyone stays over that way. I did it alone last night and he was ten times easier than the wizards.

Sounds interesting. I soled Nightfall doing it my way and best him in less than 5 minutes. You dont fight any wizards. They all despawn after 15 seconds

I'll have to try it your way, it's definitely the easiest, though getting to him is a biatch...

Got two legendary drops yesterday just from one strike. Both Hunter helmets, the exact same one in fact. But that was ok because I'm in desperate need of shards. Still haven't done a raid of nightfall run yet.

I haven't done Nightfall yet. I have to take more time to delve into that.

When you get the part where you hold off the waves at the door, just retreat back out to the corridor and fight them through the doorway. The only enemies that will come out into the corridor are the wizards. When you see them retreat further back, moving up the stairs until they stop advancing. It'll take about ten minutes but it's very doable for a solo run

That was our plan the other night. Only problem is all the dudes, including the Wizard, from the room at the too of the stairs kept respawning, we were getting worked from both sides. Right when we'd step out into the hall with the stairs we could see the enemies spawn at the top.

That happened once to me. Make sure you kill every last thing in your way down to that area. That seems to do the trick. I've done this a few times now and solo'ed the nightfall and only ever once did enemies start spawning at the top of the stairs. Possibly it might have something to do with the where the other team members are located in they decide to fight in the main room

I tried to solo the Nightfall strike last night but was unsuccessful. I thought I had a Arc damage sniper rifle but it was only a shotgun. Which was great for dealing with the Knights and other grunts but I couldn’t get past all the Wizards in the first room of death with the limited range of the shotgun. I’ll run some strikes and hope for a engram that gives me the weapon I need. Bungie puts way too many difficulty modifiers on these missions that have no matchmaking.

D-V-ANT I'm pretty sure we killed everything in the room before the stairs. I've never seen the enemies respawn at the top of the stairs before either, the hallway with the stairs has always been our place of respite. It didn't seem to matter if one or all of us were in the hallway or even near it. A couple of times we got bum rushed by the Knights from the room at the top of the stairs when we didnt even leave the room. The three of us were taking cover behind the half walls right to the left when you first come in from the hallway, next thing you know we're wiped out. A knight and the Wizard came down the stairs and hit us from behind, in the death screen you can see em' running back up the stairs...

I don't mind the modifiers, I think the Nightfall is supposed to be the hardest, what I hate is losing ammo when you switch weapons. I can see losing ammo switching from a launcher to a machine gun, totally diff. ammo types, but switching from one snipe to another and losing ammo is ridiculous.

I just think for a mission with no matchmaking it should scale to the number of people on the team. I had to go it alone and yet there was still like three Wizards that I had to face off against as well as his buddies. I managed to kill two of them but the last one along with his Knights just crushed me as I retreated back into the corridor for safety. Granted, I didn’t have the Arc sniper rifle I needed and did pretty good with just the shotgun. Once I get a Arc sniper rifle I think I’ll be able to solo it. Once I get to the final boss it should be a piece of cake with the Icebreaker sniper rifle, it will take time but with regen ammo I can afford to be patient and just slowly draw the life from him. I’ll try again tonight.

It does scale the enemies to the number of players, I think it might be in number of enemies and their health.

You sure the Nightfall Strike scales because one of the mission difficulty modifiers was for increased enemies. But being solo probably made it feel like I was facing an army. Ohh well, as soon as I pick up a rare Arc fusion or sniper rifle I'll give it another go.

Imagine if this game were free 2 play. It would take even longer to earn loot and I'd probably would have spent a fortune on stuff by now, lol.

Xur items for sale this week:

Voidfang Vestments (Warlock Class Chest Armor) - 13 Strange Coins

The Armamentarium (Titan Class Chest Armor) - 13 Strange Coins

Chest of Alpha Lupi (Hunter Class Chest Armor) - 13 Strange Coins

Suros Regime (Exotic Assault Rifle - Primary) - 23 Strange Coins

Exotic Engram (Gauntlets) - 23 Motes of Light

Xur can be found to the right of the Vanguard mentor table.

I'm so getting the Suros rifle. That thing looks so badass and I'm all about style. I may get the Warlock chest piece if it looks cool, I'd love something all glowy and shiny like I've seen from others.

Oh man, should I go for Suros or the exotic chest piece? I don't have enough coins for both. Wait, which strikes give you strange coins again?

I do believe the Heroic Strike gives coins and if you play on the highest difficulty I think you can get something like 9 in one shot.

Picked up the Chest of Alpha Lupi for my Hunter for now. It's nice to actually own a piece of exotic gear. I've only found guns.

Purchased the Suros rifle and a exotic engram which gave me the Sunbreakers gauntlets. And I completed the weekly nightfall strike and got the Truth rocket launcher as a reward. Yeah, it was a good night for loot.

Truth, nice that's what I'm running for a launcher. Finally beat the weekly heroic strike, got my 9 coins :)

Truth stats seem really good. Since we can only equip one exotic weapon at a time that kind of puts me in a little bit of a problem as to what I use and upgrade first. I have a few legendary rifles so I can continue to use those and then equip the Truth rocket launcher. But the Suros rifle is awesome and I also really like the Monte Carlo rifle I recently got.

I also have a exotic helmet but just got the sunbreakers gauntlets. It would be cool if we could equip more than one piece of exotic gear. But I guess that wold make us overpowered for both PvE & PvP. Ohh well, part of the fun is finding the right balance of weapons and armor.

Someone made a great suggestion on something I didn't think of. I've been stuck on lvl27 for a while and a buddy commented that I could just purchase a piece of legendary armor from the Vanguard and then dismantle it for upgrade materials that were needed to upgrade my current armor. Well, that worked like a charm (lvl28 now) and since I play a lot of Strikes and earn a lot of marks that's a good way to get shards or other upgrade materials. The only thing is there is limit as to how many marks you can earn in one week. I think its 100 so keep that in mind.

suros currently best primary in pvp.

Yeah... but I already have 3 autorifles, lol. Atheon's, Doctor Nope and Hard Light. So I just went with chest.

I think it's 200 marks each for vanguard and crucible?
