Destiny record breaking budget

You would have to be new to the internet, or one of the trolls yourself not to see that this is far from dramatics, its the flat out truth. Look no farther than the constant resolution wars to see that few people care to discuss the merits of a game itself, they'd rather b**** about how one version looks better than the other, or how their system is better than your system. It almost always devolves into that. There are a few threads around here that actually discuss the game itself, and I try to stick to those as much as possible. But, being contrary is par for the course with you, so im not surprised by your dissent to my comments. Its not my fault you cant see whats right in front of you.

I am clearly not referring to all the hardware, consoles, res stuff from my comments. In any case, I am not arguing with you.

I am just explaining, why some people are more demanding7have higher expectation, & being more demanding doesn't means we make outselves feel miserable, & its perfectly ok.

Destiny is the first game that actually proves what was said about the increasing costs of developing games this generation. There will be more AAA games to come down the pipeline, but not as often as last gen. But Destiny is also one of those games that could do very well, judging by the pedigree of developers attached to it, so Im sure it'll do fine. Sony is also very fortunate to be working with Bungie in that regard. Best of luck to them and this new IP. Should be amazing!

It isand it's for first game only not for future releases though.

All inclusive as in all the costs, marketing/dev/royalties are in that $500 million.

Not so much lucky but a process of elimination. MSFT & Bungie have had a huge falling out when the contract changed that was meant to give MSFT an exclusive period with Destiny. Sony wisely stepped in to get content limited to their platform. That's why I'll probably go with the PS4 version.

I can't wait for this game. It looks to be the shooter Diablo for consoles.

Not really. We've been talking about negativity in gaming in a general way, not really about his post.

It's this overwhelming negativity that is killing my old board. There are literally zero threads that are not e-peen, res wars, or moaning console specs. It is a hostile board, and doomed in a death spiral to the point now where they are contemplating shut down or complete reboot.

this site is awesome.. it is what I tried to convince my staff and the upper management at the old site what we should strive for. It's funny, but after some s*** went down over a year ago at that site, I haven't made but ten posts there I think. All hostile threads. When I was told about this site, i instantly joined... might be in the first hundred or so users to join.. and this site actually has made me miss being staff again. It is what I hoped I could make the other site, and I just got too much resistance.

Seems like gamers are disappointed in nearly everything nowadays, so I'd say that's a good bet.

There is a reason for that, and not just the old "Gamers are crybabies" excuse. While that excuse does still work for some of the negativity, IMO, the negativity is warranted in most cases. Hardware is poor, in terms of power anyway. Games today are generally getting too similar. Franchises that were awesome are trying to hard to be accessible, or too much like a more popular title.

The above are just a few things, but we can even move on to companies PR. Way over-hyping games. Over-promising and not delivering. Keeping quiet and evading the things gamers really want to know. Claiming one thing then back tracking to a contradiction...etc

Then, and this is by far the worst imo, you move on to gaming journalism. These guys are just terrible. They can not take a fircken picture but can do in depth cross platform analysis...errr no. They write reviews that are terrible and not helpful at all. They s*** on games and then give high score numbers and praise the crap of some games and give them low numbers. Most articles tend to lead with an over inflated title. It is no longer journalism, but web hit wars.

There is just so much around gaming that warrants negativity, but even when folk are, that doesn't instantly mean they can not enjoy games too. Honestly, I find the brown nosing naive posters far more annoying.

Its not blocked by my company, unlike more famous ones.

Its true, but on a serious note, its also one of the few gaming website I actually post. Its not perfect, but better than many famous websites than are full of fanboys.
