The spaces between realities!
I'm all giddy! Most signs point to Fallout 4 being at e3 this year.

Check out this nice GameSpot preview putting all the pieces together.

I think they will even show gameplay!
What changes would you like to see implemented in the next Fallout game?

Half Life 3 too plz.

But I would settle for just this.

If they can give us fallout 4 using an engine that is just as advanced over Skyrim as Skyrim was over Oblivion then I'll be happy.

Regardless, I'll be playing on PC with the best possible visuals and performance not to mention years and year and years and years of mods.

This game WILL consume me.

I really don't think they'll do that. They'll be right in the middle of launching ESO for consoles. I think they'll want to focus on hyping that as much as they can, and not drawing attention away from it. I think that's the main factor Danny O. is ignoring. I don't think it would good timing, from a marketing perspective.

Sorry to say! I'd love to hear news of Fallout 4.

Setting wise F3 > New Vegas IMHO.

Story wise & everything else New Vegas >>>>> F3

For some reason I just like the Capital Wasteland alot more.
Boston for F4 seems to be in that same vein.
I can definitely agree with the story and everything else part. As for the setting though, I guess I liked both. Loved the wild west setting of New Vegas and strolling into a town to save the day.

Completely different games really. I don't think the announcement of a single player game is going to eat into the player base of a MMO.

Especially considering F4 would probably be at least a year off.

Mmm, I don't know about that. Elder Scrolls and Fallout draw a lot of the same audience. I'm not sure Bethesda wants to put one in competition (for attention) with another.

I dont know, maybe its just me. But I love Fallout and Skyrim, but I wouldnt touch ESO with a 10ft pole.

No, it's not just you. Bethesda is (or has been, anyway) all about immersive singleplayer RPGs, so an MMO is a real departure. I hope you're right that they are so different that Bethesda won't mind the two sharing the attention. I'd love to hear something about Fallout 4 at E3. We might get a teaser trailer, I suppose.

Remember, Bethesda didn't develop nor are the working on anything ESO related. AFAIK that's all being handled by Zenimax Online Studios.

Bethesda (the part of Bethesda responsible for Fallout/TES) hasn't released a new game since Skyrim in 2011. This November will mark three years since they've released a new game in either universe. Going by their past track record we're right on schedule for a release of Fallout 4 this year.

Fallout 3 in 2008
Skyrim in 2011
And (hopefully) Fallout 4 in 2014

I am pretty much the opposite. I preferred the story in FO3 and preferred the New Vegas setting. Both were awesome though.

I could use some next-gen Fallout. There was a lot of blubber about it being secretly shown off at their booth last year, but I don't know how they could've done that.

< Was at their booth last year.

It isn't uncommon for them to show stuff behind doors to a select few.

I liked New Vegas the most. The setting to me was just so much better that it made the whole experience more enjoyable. Both games are gold though.

I'm just saying they wouldn't have had any space to show it in. That place was mostly theater and interview space.

Gotta love me some F4 :bang:

I've put a lot of hours into F3 on 360 and even more into Skyrim.

IMO the one and only thing F3 did better than FONV was that it had random events. All the events in NV were scripted and happened pretty much the same time and place every time with little variation (the roaming trader with star caps could show up in different places/times). I get why some like the atmosphere in F3 over NV tho. It was far more oppressive and dismal. If only it hadn't been so repetitive and the caves hadn't been straight copy/paste from Oblivion.

Agreed on the copy and paste thing. I really hope they create loot that you won't find over an over. Give us more Ray gun type stuff where there is only one on the map. However if you loose the item it can be found again but in a new location. Not sure how difficult it would be to build a game that did that. That is my only real negative for Bathesda games is the repetitive nature of the caves.

Funny how we have this same conversation every time Fallout is mentioned. Personally, I liked Fallout 3 more. I didn't get into the story or setting of Fallout Vegas. It just didn't click for me the way Fallout 3 did. Different strokes.

It occurs to me that I need to go back and actually finish New Vegas. I loved the game, but I got it around Christmas the year it came out, along with like 7 other games, so it got put on the back burner. I know im fairly close to the end of the main quest line.

I preferred fallout 3
what people do not remember is all of the issues fallout nv had when it was released
I have been a member of Bethesda since pre history

this time I will wait and see when Todd decides to announce it
I believe they are waiting on a few things
hopefully it will be cross gen, then I will have an excuse to buy it on several platforms as I did with all of their other games
http://forums.bethsoft.com/forum/40-fallout/ try this site for news, they will know it first
and for all we know they might be doing a new IP

the mods on the Beth forums are strict and quite a few of them are close to my age or even older
maybe that's why I like them?? lol
right now the forums are not that active will change when the next Bethesda Game Studio game is announced

People also seem to forget that Fallout 3 had a fair amount of issue at launch as well. So did Oblivion and so did Skyrim.

all of BGS games have issues
Obsidian made fallout NV
it was really bad.. but it did get fixed

and BGS games always have issues, we who love BGS know that
so my expectation is that Fallout 4 will have issues and I am ok with that
I used to live on the Bethesda Forums yeah I can tell which have issues etc.
they do explode over there, but always remember the Bethesda Forums
are generally a PC gamer forum and that's how I started with them

Oblivion was my real first console game and I played it to death
on PC, on two different XBOX 360's with two different gamer tags and PS3 [ I will always do that if I really like a game]
next to ZORK it is my most favorite game of all time

I can remembering to have to save my game before I entered a place as I knew it could freeze ect etc
that was oblivion I had almost 6000 saves on that game under my lighthouse777 GT

yeah I really want a Fallout game or elder scrolls or whatever Todd actually chooses to do
my expectation is that it will be GREAT!!

and Todd Howard reminds me of a Elf
he's cute too..

I'm hoping something fallout related is announced at E3 this year. Fallout 3 was one of my most played games last gen, definitely time for a follow up.
