I've been hearing good things about Automatron. Anyone get/play it yet?

Not me. Burn out playing Fallout 4. I think I clocked over 120 hours.

How long is the game-play value?

Very brief. You can muck around building robots as long as you want to, but the actual storyline is shockingly short and the ending lame. On the Xbox you may have to restart the console after downloading for Automatron to appear in the game add on menu.

I have no idea what I am doing in this game. Someone please help. I just spent 30 minutes scrapping everything at "Sanctuary" and put down some melon plants.

You're almost done, just build an ugly shack and you'll get the main ending.

It's a shame it's been so long since I've played it now and I've got so many other games to play I don't know if I'll even jump back in for the mods.

I didn't see this posted. It's the latest DLC, which came out last Thursday. $20:

Bad framerate problems on Far Harbor being reported for PS4 version. Avoid until patched.

I think Far Harbor looks pretty awesome. I'm not ready to go back into Fallout yet though.

They're just reminding PS owners that their focus is on Xbox with their games. Remember Fallout 3 and New Vegas were terrible on PS3. Skyrim was bad as well until it received many patches.

Yeah, they do seem to favor the Xbox. Goes back to Morrowind, I think. From what I hear, though, the Xbox version of Far Harbor is having problems, too. I don't think it's unique to the PS4 version.

Like what kind of problems? I haven't ran into any problems yet.... Knock on wood.

True, it definitely seems like they don't really care about PS as much though. It's Bethesda and they just release their crap broken because they can.

I don't think so. The PS4 version sold better even in the states, and globally, PS4 has twice the potential customer base as Xbox does. Bethesda may be friendly with MS, but they're not stupid. They know which side their bread is buttered on.

By the way, what is this forum's consensus on Fallout 4? Better than 3? Better than Vegas? About the same?

It was actuality my favorite of the 3. At first I didn't think it was going to be, but it really grew on me.

I would put it above 3 and Vegas just due to the additional options you have in customizing your bases, etc. I've also seen more entertaining random AI encounters here, which is always fun and unpredictable. Everything flows together more and is less compartmentalized.

An example is early on I had a Super Mutant suicide bomber chasing me. He was actually closing in a bit, but I kept running a good mile from where the initial chase started and he just wouldn't stop. Finally I run past a caravan and the guards engage the mutant, who charges them and the whole thing ends with me watching a Brahmin laced mushroom cloud.

I waltz down to ground zero and raid the remains with an unjustified sense of satisfaction.

I'd put vegas on top (my a tiny margin) due to best player character writing and weapon variety. We may have this modding ability but it seems to have made for fewer weapons in general.

I know it aint the west, but a man shouldn't be without his lever action. Plus the mass effect style character they got going on irks me. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's not really fallout. It's a role play/head narrative thing. Hard to justify certain actions when the character has an established background. Like making sam fisher a psychopathic killer who's only focus is "the mission blarglahg"
no wait they did do that.

I also, in a tinfoil hat way, worry about the homogenization of bethesda games. The interactions between the two are getting too similar. Talking to npc's in skyrim feels exactly the same in fallout 4. it's feeling like the same game with a new coat.
Still like it, of course. Im kinda rambling.

My favorite setting is Vegas, but too many good things about Fallout 4 for me to not give it the nod.

I enjoyed it more than Fallout 3 and New Vegas. It's just an all around better game. I liked the weapons and the characters. Better graphics, while not the best, helped immerse me into the atmosphere. Plus i'm just biased because it was set in my hometown of Boston.
