Well... this entire game's presence seems to be offensive at this point. Bethesda should just refund everyone and take the game down from digital stores. Put the money into fallout 5 and give away free canvas bags when released.
Game is f***ed.

Lol

Nope.

Fallout 76 and Bethesda are getting some deserved criticism, but it also feels like the atmosphere has turned into the usual hate-filled dog pile you often see on the internet. I think some people are losing perspective. For example, I've heard plenty of people on other forums say that people (like me) who intend to buy ES VI are the problem, because they reinforce Bethesda's poor practices. That doesn't make sense. I'm supposed to deprive myself of my favorite franchise because of something the company did 4 years earlier? In some attempt to "send a message"? Back in time?

I also see lots of articles and videos about it, and although the first few were informative, now it just feels like people are sharks who smell blood in the water, and they can't wait to attack.

Truth, but I've also seen a LOT of videos from people who really wanted to like the game.

Unless the Engine and Bethesda themselves do some internal overhauling, I may find myself skipping the next ES.

That said, it's silly to make that decision knowing nothing about the game. This criticism will make the company better, and hopefully make them realize this direction is suicide.

They also need to quit leaning on the MOD community so hard to fix their s*** for them...

Yes, It is a dogpile, but every week Bethesda seems to do something dumb after the launch of the game. It would've died down but the bad press just seems to be mounting because of their inability to at the very least communicate to do better. Bad reviews and testimonials are one thing but the way they (didn't) handle the canvas bag situation also shows they don't gaf.

*gets complaints

*throws temp under the bus

*changes nothing

I'm not saying they don't deserve the backlash. I also hope it serves as a wake-up call. Maybe this public lynching will make Starfield and ES VI better games.

I guess I'm just tired of the usual hate-filled, morally outraged dynamic that you see on the internet every other day. It gets a little old and hard to take seriously after a while. I suspect that many of the people condemning Bethesda don't even own Fallout 76 and just enjoy sh*tting on things, because it makes them feel inflated.

I think there's also an entertainment factor. I'll admit to that myself. I find it entertaining to watch something crash and burn like this -- at least if it's not a game I like or care about. It's like how people want to watch car wrecks. There's something interesting about it. In this case, it can be sort of funny, watching how bumbling they are.

This game was a 30 dollar early access game at best. It is awful technical shape.

lol. It just gets better.

Turns out Bethesda did make Fallout 76 canvas bags and gave them out to influencers

Bethesda's troubles continue today as fans unhappy at the quality of Fallout 76's Power Armour Edition bags have now discovered that canvas bags were given out, for free, to influencers.

p.s. It's not the same bag, but it's close.

Played this last night with a friend. Maybe two hours in and a couple of the main quests along with starting some side missions/world events. Really just feels like Fallout 4 honestly. Neither of us ran into any bugs, glitches, hitches, bitches, etc. Right after coming out of the Vault we met a level 40+ guy in power armor and at least he didn't murder us. Also ran by a couple other people lower level and didn't get ganked or anything so I'll consider that a victory. Definitely looking forward to playing some more.

Oh there's bugs and glitches but it's not like Bethesda is know for their glitch/bug free games (not an excuse by any means). That said the game is fun, at least as much as FO4, and a blast with a team of friends. Hopefully Bethesda gets their head outta their ass and fix the game, as it stands it certainly isn't worth $60, definitely the $35 I paid. I don't get a lot of the hate, it plays basically like FO4, but with friends. While FO4 was my least favorite this game isn't worse that it.

Isn't the next ES game gonna be on their new engine?

I paid $60 for two copies since my friend was on the fence. It was either that or play through another Fallout again and figured it might as well be something new. I'm sure I'll get my money out of it at least.

You can consider cash out the lost by trading in early before the value nosedived if it not already.

Well I'm on PC so no go, but have probably 6-7 hours into the game already and still not seeing what the big issue is over it.

No surprise. There is no real big issue. It has some technical problems that have mostly been addressed in patches. The main complaint is the engine and how little progress they seem to have to made since Fallout 4 and that’s an entirely legitimate point. But as you know the mob has to have their pound of flesh from what game it is that has outraged them this week. Bethesda aren’t doing themselves any favors either with the all the other mistakes they made around the game like that thing with the canvas bags.

Man those Scorchers are creepy AF when they're walking around talking to themselves, or hunting you down indoors, with headphones on.

Not mine, but pretty cool. First time that I've seen a Nuke in game.

This is cool. The more I see of this game the more I think I'd like to play it. Quick question, do you absolutely have to do base building in this game? That was a major turn off for me in Fallout 4. Didn't really care to spend all that much time doing it

Nope, base building is not a must. You can build the bare minimum camp and be good to go.

I heard that the canvas shortage is over, and Bethesda is going to do right by the people who bought the collector's edition. That's good. A little late, but better than just digging in their heels and refusing to correct their mistake.

Was in a server with one. I was running to try and get to ground zero for the blast but didn’t make it in the time. The actual explosion when it goes off is really good.

Yeah I’ve gone with a minimum cabin with some turrets and a powered water purifier (gives two bottles of pure water every 10 mins. Great for make caps). That’s it for me. I might expand on it but probably not to much.
I’ve seen some proper fortresses being built though. All concrete and steel with rocket turrets. Looks great but I wouldn’t have the patience for it.

My buddy I was playing with was trying to make it to ground zero too. He got to the blast zone a few seconds after it hit. It's cool when that air raid siren goes off warning that a nuke is incoming. It's also neat how the blast and debris cloud climbs up and lingers for 10-15 mins after the nuke hits.
