I just got this free through an Amazon Prime deal. Never played Fallout. Is there an easy mode? It's installing now while I am at work.

Just bought this on Cdkeys for 12.75, really looking forward to it. Been talking about getting it for a long time, just kept forgetting about it.

Excited to see what happens

All jokes aside, is game fun? Does it feel fallouty?
Yes and no. Biggest issue is the no NPC thing, but with the Wastelanders DLC coming out later this year that'll change that. It's enjoyable though, and I really like wandering around and stumbling my way into new areas.

I'm only level 7, so there's a lot left to do, but overall I'd say it has the feel of Fallout.

One of my favorite things to do in F3 and F4 was just going around exploring the world. Does this one have an interesting setting/world? Loved being on my way somewhere and seeing an area that caught my eye then I start going in that direction instead.

I’ve been waiting awhile to get this since I recently finished F4. Put a ton of hours into it didn’t want to get burned out quickly going into this.

Yeah not having any NPC’s in the game kinda sucks, makes it really lifeless. Other than that it’s pretty fun, especially with friends.

So if there are no NPCs, and if I turn off PVP to play the campaign, does that mean there isn't a single AI enemy on the entire map??? I haven't started it yet.

No there's a ton of enemies, mostly ghouls for me so far. I did run into one super mutant yesterday and that was a nice change of pace.

NPC's that we're talking about are like people you talk to, quest givers, etc. The terminals are pretty cool, it's just a lot of reading, plus you have to listen to holotapes to get a better idea of what exactly happened to everyone who was there. There's just like dead bodies everywhere you go, who have tapes and notes that bring quests.

Miss the human interaction aspect of a normal Fallout game, but with Wastelanders coming out in November (I think) I think it'll be a lot better. Though I do think it's a full on expansion, so I believe you'd still need to get through the main game first.

Ok, that makes sense. Thank you!

One thing that'd be nice with this game is if there were a "recommended level" for quests that you get. I hit level 10 yesterday, and started going into this area where my current quest was, but the enemies were like level 18+. I guess I'll return later?

I JUST got it started and was in the bedroom and looking around and turning on and off lamps, playing the holotape game thingie on the TV. Then I turned it off cuz the wife wanted to watch her recorded Bachelorette.

Isn’t there a red skull(?) over enemies heads that are way above your lvl?

Edit: I don't know who came up with this but seems pretty accurate from what I remember.

You guys are real sissies. Now if you excuse me, I'm off taking out the trash my lovely wife left me, better hurry before she gets back or I'll be wearing the gimp suit again.

Hopefully you’re not the one wearing the gimp suit in the back of the pawn shop.

You have to get yourself a dedicated gaming man cave. It is the only reason my marriage has lasted as long as it has without my wife killing me.
