I disagree. I have the XSX version. It's definitely struggling when compared to PC.
It's quite drastic. It's obvious the game was made for PC then ported to consoles, both last gen and current gen. I don't know what else to say, I've played them both...
Always hype for FC games but like a month before this released I just lost interest for some reason. I will probably pick it up next year on the cheap during a lull, or something.
I was a little hesitant to purchase this because so many of the reviews I've seen were not very kind to this game. They were right about it being a "by the numbers" Ubisoft game. But the thing is its still a lot of fun. I'm playing on XSX and the graphics are gorgeous, but the tropical setting could be the reason I like the presentation so much. And the framerate is a solid 60fps for the most part even during intense action. There's a slight stutter when panning the camera but I found its only really an issue when standing still and even then its not that big of a deal.
As for the gameplay, if you like big open world games with lots to do then you'll be happy with this. Its almost all combat related but this is Far Cry so that's expected. There's a lot of weapons and customization for those weapons and there's a gear system because "of course" it seems like all games these days need that. There's even some exploration ala AC Tombs to explore that are called treasure hunts to get some goodies.
I love how you can have these awesome moments while tackling things in whatever order you please. Just last night I was flying in a helicopter and was shot down by an AAA gun. I went back to that sight and sneaked into the base, chucked a stick of dynamite at the AAA gun destroying it but in the process I raised holy hell with the surrounding troops. I made my escape and lost them. I got back to the base where I could respawn a new chopper and went back to that base and made them sorry they messed with me. It was awesome until I crashed the chopper but that was my fault, lol.
If you guys feel like waiting for a sale that's a good move. Ubisoft games go on sale pretty quickly after launch so I wouldn't be surprised if this is on sale as soon as Black Friday. But I don't think you'll go wrong paying full price either since there's lots to do and its a lot of fun. I guess I'm one of the few that still likes the Ubisoft formula.

I'll get this eventually for sure. I love the Far Cry formula even if it is repetitive. I'll probably wait for a sale which will probably be next month.
There's one downside to this game I should mention that may put some off. You can't mainline the campaign because all missions are associated to a specific level or rank. I found I can tackle missions of one rank above me with no problems but two above makes things too frustrating. I'm still pretty early into this game and I think it'll be like Assassin's Creed where I'll get to a point where I'm powerful enough to take on anything but I'm not there yet. But there's enough fun things to do to increase your rank so I'm not bothered by the rank system. But if you want to speed through the story just keep this in mind.
After some thought, I feel I need to apologizsed to the people I tramatizsed & need to retreat to their safespace.
As a previlage PC gamer, I sometimes fail to recognised other gamers may not be like me that have the previlage to enjoy gaming with the best platform.
I will be sure to check my previlage before making hurtful comments in future.
Amazon has this on sale for $40. Worth it for that? I wasn't sure if there would be a cheaper deal, but this is a 1 day thing.
2 was great and really flew under the radar and was ahead of its time. Kind of set up the great 3,4 and 5.
