Finished it today, definitely worth playing, there are some things that could be better but overall a very enjoyable game.

Square Enix Responds to Final Fantasy 16 Sales Concern, Points to PS5 Install Base - IGN
Square Enix has insisted sales of Final Fantasy 16 are “extremely strong”, telling IGN the game has sold well relative to the PlayStation 5 install base.
Just beat the game, took 40 hours. It was a great experience even though the end kind of dragged on a bit but the production value blows the roof off and I love the OST and world building elements in the game. My final score will remain at 8.5 and definitely also one of my top 5 FF's.

40 hours wtf. I'm at like 70 and just got to the final mothercrystal. Did you do all the side quests as well?
I did most of them but not all.
Not the ones at the very end just before the final mission. And there were a lot there lol..

But seriously, wasn’t Square disappointed with that same sales number for Tomb Raider?
Yeah the person who attended the conference said hope was not the right word to use.
How is this a surprise to anybody?
Most of SE's PS only games failed to meet expectations.
People can play word games all they like. Stock prices dropped 15%. That says it all.

PS5 exclusive Final Fantasy 16 shipped and digitally sold three million copies within a week of its release in June, according to publisher Square Enix.
The figure means Final Fantasy 16’s release sales were roughly in line with those of Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s launch, which managed around 3.5 million copies in ten days (albeit on PS4, which had a larger installed base).
The last numbered instalment, Final Fantasy 15, remains the series’ fastest-selling entry with 5 million units shipped and sold digitally in its first 24 hours alone. This was across multiple platforms, however.
