First Xbox One OS update coming February (Delayed)! March target for 2nd update.

They need to create an easier way to access friends. This loading a friends app crap is annoying. It needs to be faster too because right now it's slower than loading your friends on the 360...which was slow to begin with.

Agreed, I feel they need to just completely restore the guide button menu.

I went back to my 360 to play Metro 2033 and Last Light, and it's quite pathetic how much quicker and easier it is to access things like friends, achievements, settings, etc on the 360 over the One.

BRING BACK THE GUIDE BUTTON MENU MICROSOFT!!!!

I have a season pass and a lot of downloaded songs which are automatically available to me on Xbox One so I would like to be able to use it while gaming.
I thought about getting one since I have a Surface as well and didn't know you can't do this. Thanks for the information and it is reasonable request for sure.

Same goes for not allowing you to see and manage your HDD content. No clue what MS was thinking.
They were thinking storage management is/should be obsolete with cloud management. They were trying to make it seamless in a way. So that you didn't have to think "do I have enough storage to dl this?". Instead they wanted to remove item(s) dynamically from the HDD to allocate space, but game dl size made it unworkable since it would be possible to think you are ready to play an old game, and instead being prompted to download it again.

Here is our battery indicator:

Yes, they are adding stuff they took away, but you do realize they usually put out consoles barebones at launch because they are making so many of them & they want them to be stable. It's a rushed time frame just getting a console out, so they figure make sure it runs by being simple, then add to it once they have more time to test updates.

Also, I hope the new 'battery indicator' at least makes the controller blink, because I usually don't spend a ton of time on the Home screen during long sessions of Battlefield. There's no way I'd see right when it was going to die unless the controller blinked a few times. I don't think it does though...

That surprise better be preloading Titanfall.

Would have been nice to get these changes in when the system launched, but I'm glad to see that they did it. Especially getting the party stuff squared away prior to Titanfall, don't want something like that taking away from the game. I'm assuming that the new party system will be closer to what we had on 360.

Saying Titanfall will be the biggest release this year makes me think Halo 5 isn't coming this year. That would make me very sad. Hopefully he's just hyping...

I think he was just saying it was the biggest release of the year to get people excited. They obviously want to hype it up because they invested over 50 million to get it exclusive for a game. There will be plenty of other big games this Fall!

Halo will be huge no doubt. But Halo 5 (assuming that is what is coming), will only be on a console that has a userbase of say 10 million people). Titanfall will be available to be purchased for hundreds of millions of PC's, 85 million Xbox 360's, and maybe 5 million Xbox One's.

while it pains me to say so, I agree.. however I can also say Halo 5 will be a console seller as well, so regardless of the present install base at the time of release, it will increase that userbase as well. I think Halo 5 will sell more on the X1 than TF will.

They are definitely just hyping. They want Titanfall to sell consoles. Halo 5 is a lifetime away in those terms.

I still think Halo is a bigger franchise with a more loyal fan base at this point. I'm thinking it's just hyperbole. I want Halo 5 in my possession!!!

Nice updates. I hope they also make the friend's app snappable. Not sure why one would want the "guide" back. Honestly, guide was replaced by snapped apps. Just make that update and your 'guide' for friends is back.

Oh and i would love if friends in your "Favorites" list gave notifications when they signed online.

That's imperative and completely stupid that it's not there

Aww man, update has been delayed. I’ll bet its because of that damn battery indicator mucking things up. Tricky little display thingy.

I think MS is upset that people are mad about live and they took it personal because that is their #1 online service and to heard things like that sound like someone is getting fired for all this mess.

Good on MS and put this back on track, good thing that the system is only a couple of months new.

"Xbox snap activity"

I don't see the point of wanting the guide back. You have basically that same thing on the Xbox One today - only in reverse. On the 360 the guide was a small window that sat on top while the game was in the background. On the Xbox One your game goes into a small window in the background and your start screen opens.

The only problem I have is that many options that were a click or two away using the guide, not take several more clicks using the start menu. This is the failure on their part - not to replicate the same feature set as the 360 with the same or less clicking/waiting. If this was achieved then nobody should have a problem as to whether the game is full screen or shrunk down in the background when you press the Xbox circle.

Snapped Apps is entirely something new. Snapped Apps are about multi-tasking, not about replacing the functionality of the guide/start screen.

They officially announced the stereo headset adapter today too as well. Reading over the documents, you have to run a USB cable to your controller to update it before the adapter will work. That's nuts.

One thing that isn't being talked about that needs to change immediately is the ability to see all your Xbox One information on Xbox.com. You need Windows 8 and smart glass to view all that info. How the f*** is it OK to not have all that on the actual website of Xbox.com

I got onto Xbox.com and the last thing I have played is from the 360 in early November. The only thing that updates on their is my Achievement score.
