Even if it was a good move for them should we really want them to do it? When they buy a small studio they can invest and improve that studio so at least there is a positive impact. We shouldn't root for them to buy Sega and EA and Capcom.

Agreed, while it might be a good move for MS, I don't think any platform holder purchasing such a big publisher will do the industry any good, unless the publisher is about to go under and all the talent and assets would otherwise be lost.

I would much prefer a 1.5 party partnership contract than MSFT just buy them outright.
