Mod note: People have repeatedly brought this subject up in other threads, so I figured we should just create a thread for people to discuss/argue about which game lineup they preferred. - Andy

But X1 has all these features and services that absolutely make up for that $100 price difference.

But wait, according to X1 fans, the same fans that said that, it's all about the games.

So since the PS4 is cheaper and has the same multiplat titles that are noticeably (note how I didn't say majorly or drastically) prettier/better performing it IS all about the games. So in the end those services and features don't actually make up for that $100?

Now I'm confused.
The games are the bottom line.
I have a lot of exclusives, Ryse,Titanfall, Killer Instinct, and Dead Rising3.
Heck, the Kinect is awesome. Come in say Xbox on, there it is, automatically signed in.
DR3 Kinect intergration, is flawless. Not to much, just enough to get you started.
Tell me you've never jerked the controller?
The extra stuff is worth the price. But its still just gravy on some fantastic mashed potatoes.

Please, oh please, tell me what exclusives the 4 has right now.
Or is it multi plat games that is pushing the 4 game sales.
X1 is designed different, new so therefore harder to work with, at first.

Wait till H5, then come talk about games.

You are right about this, it was designed differently it appears that the XB1 was designed as a multimedia machine with gaming as one of its features were as the PS4 was designed as a gaming machine with multimedia as one of its features. Beacause of this you have the higher pricepoint and weaker hardware.

Also you asked about exclusives so here you go.

So I take it you don't own a smartphone. I mean they do more than just send and receive calls.
Also I know you didn't just try to justify the " gaming machine" as you put it. With a bunch of games that very possibly, been made to play on a Nokia 920.
Last your list of also wrong SpiderMan 2 is on the X1( or least it was) maybe MS decided to take a game that would sell 500 copies wasn't worth the hassle.( actually hope its still on there. Might get it with GwG)

Im NOT knocking the 4. It is clearly selling more than the X1. I'm not going to compare NOCR.
I will save that for X1 WWR, but even I think that's not going to be a significant game changer in the next couple of years. (Depends on China)
In the end it will come down to the games themselves.
Personally I don't think a bunch of"cute little" games are going to do it.
X1 has Old, and New Franchises. Each with its own style,
Its a good time to be an X1 gamer.
One last thing(if rumors of E3 are true) Congrats on GTA5. That was a good game, but doesn't come Close to Dead Rising 3.
Besides I already own GTA 5 on my 360.

Wait till...

Here it is, ladies and gents, the MS fan war cry.

"WAIT TILL!!!"

You're so right! For GTAV to come close to Dead Rising 3 it would have to sell about a billion fewer copies, score 20 point less (on average) in reviews and have half the content.

"Wait till the WW release to actually compare sales, oh yes thats just crazy.
Yes let me throw out all kinds of meaningless statistics.
I wouldn't expect DR to achieve the commercial success of GTA.
I still think DR3 is tons better.

In the end, both platforms will have a good variety of exclusives to play. Sony has a good headstart by doing all the things right at the beginning. X1 has some catching up to do.

Andy, my dear fellow. If people can not stay on topic then thread ban or forum ban. We do not need more comparison threads on this comparison happy forum. Is bout time people just learnt to deal with their purchases and stopped trying to validate them with silly comparisons.

Nah, people have an unquenchable need to compare the game lineups. I can't tell you how many times I've already deleted posts, issued warnings, thread banned, etc.. It works for a while, and then the subject just pops up again. It's whack a mole. It's also annoying, a waste of my time, and unsuccessful.

People need a place to talk about this. We've been saying it's off topic and off limits, and it just keeps coming back, again and again. It's not going away. It'll bet it'll get even harsher around E3.

p.s. Anyway, at least this thread is about games. All the other "vs" threads are about what I consider extraneous stuff -- resolutions, framerates, sales figures, etc.

We all know Sony will have a more diverse lineup when it's all said and done.

But Microsoft has had a great start to the generation, and hopefully Spencer keeps the new and returning IP's coming for years to come.

No doubt, I'm not even saying X1 would be outselling the 4,if one or two things wouldn't have happened. But with Sony pulling last minute changes( as in not including eye and having same retail price)
The games at launch though have more than justified my purchase.
I may be the Xbox fanboy, but I admit they messed up (HARDRIVE)
With all the games I already love in the first 6months. I have a feeling that MS is going to take some chances with games that before, they would of passed on.
People keep talking about a winner, between the two. The winner will be the devs who will get to try something outside the box.
Putting out unthinkable titles before, the whole X1 isn't a game console started.
Look I don't apologize for being a fanman.
I've been playing Xbox since OX was launched. Before that it was Dreamcast. What they both had in common were really great games.
Sonys games are the reason why I "hate" on the 4 not the console.

inFamous Second Son
Killzone
Knack
Outlast
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

And there's others out that I won't bother mentioning, not to mention a larger variety of others coming out eventually.

So yeah, good lineup of exclusives and the better multiplats, not bad for $400.

Hmmm...lets play the PS3 lover game.....Outlast is on PC and thus not an exclusive :D

I added it on purpose...seeing as he added TF in his list of "a lot of exclusives". ;)

Just showing how nonsensical it is to ask "Please, oh please, tell me what exclusives the 4 has right now."

Is it just me or will a die hard fan boy for a console or game come up with anything no matter how outlandish the statement is to justify the love for said console or game. Always makes them look silly.

That is kind of like putting your finger in the leaking dam, and this isn't about games at all. This is about people validating their purchases. My purchase has the better exclusives games. No, mine does. Rinse and repeat for 100 pages.

But TF is exclusive to MS :D:D

No, your metaphor does not apply, and you could say the same about any "versus" thread on any site.

If you're not interested in the thread, why are you participating? Not sure what complaining accomplishes. If you don't think the subject is worthwhile, don't visit the thread.

Doesn't matter....it's not a "xbox" exclusive, and the OP is clearly talking about XB1 vs PS4.

And besides, it might not be long that it would even be a "MS" exclusive, as they're in talks to get it ported over to Mac.

Agreed with this comment, it's what makes his post so nonsensical. It's not about PS4 not having exclusives as he asked....but rather, it's about which console has exclusives that he cares about. That doesn't make his console of choice better....it makes it better for him as an individual. However, he posed the question as if it was a general fact.

I was just taking the piss out of both sides. Couldn't help it.

Just tired of all the negativity and complaints.
Man, I don't think its negativity.
I think what it boils down to is both are happy with their purchases, and can't understand why the other doesn't see what they do.
I think a persons choice of console, reflects their personalities.
X1 are willing to take a risk.
P4 are if it ain't broke, add more power to it.

Actually i was miswording what i wanted to write, which( as you know I do alot) was.
I'm waiting for the WW release of X1 to compare sales.
I went on to say that I didn't think the X1 would take over the #1 seller spot.
But this isn't a sales compairison thread. I was just responding.

mm... I don't think so. At least for me. I feel like I'm taking a risk, getting a PS4. It feels like they embrace a different selection of games than I'm used to. I've played almost only Xbox games for 11 years, and getting an X1 would be the safer, more traditional choice for me. I'd know pretty much what I was getting, in terms of the kinds of games coming to the system. PS4 feels like sort of new territory to me.

Oh, okay. I thought maybe you meant to type E3.

More risk in hardware design doesn't always translate to more risk in games though. That's part of the problem. PS brand tends to offer a larger variety of games, while XB games tend to cater to the dude bro crowd, and there's nothing wrong with that, if that's the kind of games you're in to, but it's not everyone's bag.

That's the exception to the rule.
Not saying your the only one who has switched.
