Official Thread Game of Thrones

At this point, I'm totally invested in the show, so I'm probably going to hold off on the books until the very conclusion.
That was my plan too, but with only 10 weeks of watching and then a year wait, it is taking its toll. I have lost count how many times I have seen the fist 3 seasons inbetween waiting for the fourth. I am currently in the middle of watching them again now. To change it up a bit I started with season 3 and am going backwards.
We have AA, SAA, DAA, and now I think we need a GOTAA.
Yeah if you're that into the show you should just pick up the books. I got the whole box-set for $30 on amazon like a month ago.
In my experience it's always better to read the novels of something first, then the movie/show/etc.
The show's only covered 2 1/2 books so far, there's 5 books already out with 2 more to be written AFAIK. So this show is going to be going on for a LONG time. And let's all pray that HBO doesn't end it half way through when they can't afford the actors new contracts on top of the filming budget etc. (ex. Rome, Deadwood)
I'm nearing the half-way point of A Storm of Swords (3rd book) so I'm almost caught up......and then everything I read will be new and mindblowing!!!! Mwahahahaha!!!!!

Thse books are great, but they also have some dreadfully boring parts. Reading them at this point is a huge undertaking. By the time you finished the first book, Season Four will be here. XD
Anyway, I bought season three on blu-ray. Because it was only $30 for one, but I have to admit what really pushed me over the edge was the thought of seeing Ygrit's boobies again.
You just want me to suffer. I'll likely do this anyway as I have a few educational books I need to read before starting big novels.
Its not much better having read the books. Unless George gets the next one out this year its looking more and more likely the show will take over.
The Blurays are sooo good, the separation in the 5.1 is awesome, and the PQ on my Panny Plasma its like I'm looking into Westeros. Much better than HBOs HD broadcast.
Has anybody seen these ? action figures, statues..etc
The action figures look like crap( except the White Walker), IMO, but the statues look decent and the Map statues are pretty awesome, IMO.

That comment about the show not being for kids reminded me of a review on bestbuy.com or amazon can't remember which but someone put up a review for the game of thrones video game, she said it was too violent and although her kids were huge fans of the series she didn't like them playing it. It made me wonder if she herself has even seen the show, I love it but I wouldn't let kids watch it.
Hell no my daughters 3, she just came downstairs while I was watching the Red Wedding episode. Had to put her to sleep before I could finish watching it.
The show has important life lessons. Let the kiddies watch. Can't make the world more fooked up than it already is
in all seriousness though, the show isn't that violent. Sure a few heads and a hand roll, But considering what is actually going on, it is rather tame, IMO.
Will we see more Jakkan ( can't recall second name. The face changer who helps Arya escape) ? cause at the end of season 3 she holds the coin and says the words.
Jaqen H'ghar. I've read all the books and I can't recall him reappearing..at least not in his 'current' form. I won't say too much as there are spoiler issues..but he may well reappear in another form...although this hasn't been made plain in the books yet.
Shame really as he was an excellent character and excellent choice of actor for the role.

I read the first, but fear too much on the second.
Well as I said its only possible/fan speculation.
But I would like to see Jaqen H'ghar return and with the same actor but that might not happen seeing as he said Jaqen H'ghar is dead at the end of season 2.

Fans have an awful knack of being right tho. Especially when they gather together.
As for Jaqen, yeah, but it would seem odd for this shape shifter to not to be seen again. He did say "if you ever need me" and her season 3 ending seems to imply she does.
