OH! Haha, I thought you were somehow referring to gamer pics that were mentioned in an earlier post.Which are JPEGs....lol
But regardless, it's just that PING sound that gives me that sense of achievement!

and they have ruined online games more often than not.
This is true.
Back in the early days of the Xbox 360 I was on top of the leaderboards for the XBLA game Undertow. It didn't even have anything to do with online play, it was just how many kills you had in the game, SP included. I got to 100k kills and stopped. Waste of my life for sureBig time. I also always have to laugh at the especially stupid ones, like topping the world leaderboards...
I don't even know what my Gamerscore is. Never pay attention. I even disabled my achievement notifications because I felt like it could sometimes break the immersion (like in a cutscene).
Although, I understand that some (if not most) people like achievements and like to track them.
well for those who do like achievements

Xbox one will change the 1000 mark
it will allow developers to add achievements
months after the game is released
and you can get achievements for the same game on the 360 and the one
you points will carry over
I'm ashamed to admit I rented that game for the achievements. Got 1000/1000 in like 2 minutes and never looked at it again.legendary Avatar game (Burning Earth I believe). That Avatar game nets you 1000/1000 in the first five minutes of gameplay.
It's a fun little platformer and is a fun distraction for kids at parties when you need it. Especially since it has co-op. It's a weird game that was both enjoyable yet eerily terrible in it's production values. I mean, they didn't bother to animate a little looped cycle for so many characters. They just let them stand still.... awkwardly. It was beautiful.I'm ashamed to admit I rented that game for the achievements. Got 1000/1000 in like 2 minutes and never looked at it again.

Haha yep. I believe there were 5, all for different level of "combos". I put combos in quotes because as I remember, I don' think it even cared if they were combos. Pretty much after killing 10-15 enemies, you were given the achievement no matter what.I got that game for my daughter who loved that show (I liked it too) and played the game. Thought it was so ridiculous how quickly you got the achievements (I think there was like five of them).
