Gaming headset recommendations

After some debate I decided to check out the new Turtle Beach Stealth 420X Headset. ($150) XBOX ONE only. I think there is a PS4 version called the 400x.

IT is completely WIRELESS.

Setup is very simple. Plug Usb dongle into Xbox One.

Turn on Xbox One. Turn on the Headset.

Headset has a built in battery that is rated for 15 hours of use. Recharges with a micro USB just like the Play and charge kit.

I have a large head and the Headset fits comfortably and is light!

This is a "Stereo" headset only but going from the Turtle Beach Digital DSS2 DX12(5.1 Surround) I had, to this I noticed a lot of improvement in the sound. Directional sounds seem just as good if not better than with the other Headset I had. I can hear it just a bit clearer and more bass response even without the Bass boost on.

This headset has MIC Monitoring and an excellent Noise gate on the Mic. I can have my fan blasting me and no one hears it until I speak and then it is only for the duration that I speak. Good stuff.

There are 3 sound Presets-

Bass Boost , Bass and Treble Boost and Vocal Boost.

I found the regular sound field was perfect for me. The Bass boost has a lot of BASS!

I played Titanfall and was top of the scoreboard on my first match with these babies. Sounds great on Halo and Borderlands as well.

SO overall being that this model is $50-$150 cheaper than the other fully wireless sets out there and sounds Fantastic I am rating this 9/10

lately i've been using sony psvita earbuds and plugging them directly into my dualshock. theyre very convenient because you can lay your head down or against the sofa without worrying about breaking them, unlike headphones which get in the way.

ive been using them much more than my Sony Golds lately and theyre like 1/10 the price. one of my best gaming purchases in recent memory (they also have mic too, works great)

I was wanting to get a headset that I use for MMO's on PC as well as on my Xbone... But it seems like some of these headphones are Xbox only?!

I will update this thread in a couple days after I have had a chance to use them for a bit.
So far I have only compared them to my 5 year old Razer Chimera 5.1 headset and just listening to music with no sound stage enhancements I can tell you the bass hits a lot harder yet still sounds much cleaner on the HyperX headset.
More impressions to come.

I've heard good things about the HyperX Cloud series. I have a SteelSeries Siberia 350 right now. It's the older gen from them but still really nice, especially the headband, as the regular style headbands get annoying after a while. This one has a suspension system so I don't even feel anything on my head. Could wear them all day.

I don't use the wireless one, but I'm a big fan of Steelseries Arctis line. Although looking into now I'm not sure how it works wirelessly with the Xbox One. :really:

I've been curious about some wireless surround headphones for the One X as well.

i got the turtlebeach 420x+ or something like that. they're pretty good and work with the pc too (sometimes they need to be replugged in). they're only stereo sound but they hold a charge pretty well at 1.5 years in. would've been nice if the battery was replaceable though.

the sound boost mode is actually really good at boosting footsteps as well.

I'm in the market and would love some of your feedback. Thanks!
I got the Elite 800x. I like it. You can really hear the depth and location of sounds. I used the mic during a Twitch broadcast and people said it was clear, but maybe a little low.

I recommend you wear it on your head.

I need something that is 150 dollars or less, that is wireless, and will work with both Xbox One and PS4. I've been playing games much later due to a change in work schedule so I some times find myself playing games at 1-4AM and I can't have the home theater set up booming that late. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Going by the gaming public, Turtle Beach of some kind. Sales are so hot, the stock has 10x itself in 4 months!

I was looking at the turtle beach 600 but there are 2 different versions, one for each console. The Xbox One ver connects directly to the consoles wireless (which is super nice), and then the PS4 version has a USB dongle for the wireless, that's not going to work. I need something that works for both whether is has a dongle or not.

I had a pair of Triton wireless that worked with both consoles. I can’t remembe the model but they cost about 160 and were decent.

I like Steelseries headsets, but not sure they are compatible on both consoles. If I remember correctly it might only be PS4.

I’m a sennhiser fan boy, so biased am I....

It seems this is your best bet, but I have no experience with them.

I love Sennheiser but that kinda thing is prolly gonna be priced out of what I want to spend.

P.S. Your picture link or w/e you posted is broken

Yeah, I was looking at what their wireless headsets were and dang, probably double after taxes of what you’re looking to spend, unless you go wired.

Fixed the link...
