I make time for binge gaming between crunch times 
. I usually get depressed afterwards though, "OH NO WONDERFUL 101 IS NOW FINISHED! PLEASE MAKE A SEQUEL! *tears running*". Had the same in the University and high school . I guess I'm just in a field of work that allows me to do it .

As a student we would play console and computer games for days on end. Red Faction 2 and Pro Evo Soccer, Counterstrike on LAN, Rome Total War, even WoW. They were some of the best days of my life.
Now I'm 30. I've got a house, a dog, a job and a pregnant gf. Today I spent 3 hours with a f*cking maternity advisor! I look and I wonder what my life has become. I still only have a 360 which I haven't played since January. I do things now because I'm told to by my gf. I used to be happy to wallow in my own filth and eat s*** food, now I have to clean the bathroom every week and eat vegetables. If I stay up past 1am I will get disapproving looks from my gf. I'm 30 years old ffs! What has happened to me? What's more depressing is that I'm genuinely interested in things like curtain fabric and carpet colours.

Bought a PS4 and Xbox One..thinking what the F did I do this for? I dont have the time or energy to game anymore. Work, family, and fitness come first..after that I'm zonked.
I don't think I'll ever outgrow my interest in videogames completely, but I do notice that, as I get older, I get increasingly picky and hard to please. My reaction to most games now is boredom, the feeling that I've seen it all before. It takes a pretty special or unique game to keep my interest. I just don't have the patience for the same-old, same-old anymore.
i can never see myself having a serious GF who doesnt enjoy gaming... sounds like a terrible life. i dont want to be judged for my hobby by the person i am living with!
maybe thats why i am single right now
More often, when I need to choose between watching a TV series or game, I pick the formal.
Some of the games are too exhausting for me, I prefer more causal games these day. I d not go for challenges. I hardly play games on harder difficulties, & my gaming session last normally under 2 hours.

It is and it isn't terrible.
Certain aspects of it are great, but I guess in some ways I just don't want to grow up.
I decided to take a break from gaming during Spring,Summer months to enjoy another hobby. The wonderful world of Radio control takes over in April and lasts till the last pretty day. Is nice for a few months to get outside see the sun and meet other fleshlings.
Nice. RC planes/cars? I'm the same... when the weather's good and I'm not working, you'll find me at the flying field. A quick shot of a few of my planes at our local club...

That is a sweet looking fleet ! Looks like a great area for flying as well. Sadly I am stuck to the ground for now but I enjoy getting out and racing these little devils.

I just want more time to play and i don't even have a life yet. How you guys with wives, kids, and responsibilities get your gaming fix in i'll never know. All i do is work and game for the most part.

I feel your pain man. The wife gives me the stink eye if I'm not in bed by midnight on a weekend. Does your gf give you grief if you want to go out and have a few drinks with the boys? I know mine does...
My wife was warned before we got married that I have a gaming habit that isn't likely to go away before I'm 60. She wasn't prepared, lol. I don't see myself not gaming anytime soon.

I'm a weekend nighttime warrior. Between 1am and 3am is when the true magic happens.
Oh yeah. If I want to go out I have to pretty much ask. If she wants to go out she just arranges it and tells me. If I want to go out I 'don't want to spend time with her'. If she wants to go out 'I'm not bothered about spending time with her anyway'.
It's not all bad, obviously. But the fact that I sort of need permission to do things absolutely p*sses me off. And what's worse is I don't know when it first happened.
At 38 I find only sports game manager modes and the Battlefield series can really hold my interest for a prolonged period of time. I'll still buy the occasional Forza or Metal Gear when they come out but they don't get a lot of play time. With a job and wife and two girls I can only play when they're out on the weekends or late at night after everyone has gone to bed.

This right here. I'm pretty picky about my games. And considering that I spend 60 bucks on em, digitally, I have to be sure it'll be something I'll play. Work too hard to blow on money on bad games.
It's worth holding out. My GF is a gamer, we met through XBL actually. She's moving up here this month if she can stick this job at the hospital. I love gaming too much, I won't let age or anyone come in the way of that. It's a matter or respect man, my hobbies are my own, if you can't accept it, then we can't be together.

I've had past GF's try that on me, they were removed from my life immediately.
The secret to gaming with a woman in the house is to have your own separate TV/office/man cave.
It is one thing if you have to kick them off the TV to play video games, but if you have your own setup there's not really much they can say (and if they do, show them the door).
After awhile, the stink-eye no longer works on you, then you get the silent treatment, which is exactly what you wanted to begin with.
